Vancouver Island.
I've been listening to this band called Soulpreacher for quite some time, and I realize that they aren't very big ( i don't even think they're signed ) but I just wanted to know if anyone on here has heard of them, or likes them.

For those who've never heard them, go to www.soulpreacher.info

yeah, i've heard of them. i'm from raleigh and have seen them on numerous occassions. not into the whole doom metal thing though. they're very doomy. they rehearse in the same building that some of my friends do too so i see them quite often. it've cool that you've heard of them all the way up where you're from. theres a lot of great metal bands in the raleigh, nc area. check out this site for more groups:

That's awesome. Around here we've got squat for bands, cept maybe for some band called Meatlocker 7, but I'm not really too big on their stuff. I'm also not too big on Soulpreacher's older material either, but the stuff on their 'Lost Words' demo is amazing. Dead Pictures is probably my favorite. Anyways, that's really cool. Do you by any chance know when they're releasing any new material?

(next time you see the guys tell em I said their an awesome band)

not sure when any new stuff by them is coming out. i havent seen them in awhile. they're about as slow as recording their new tunes as their music is haha. just kidding, they're great guys and i know they'll appreciate fans as far north as you

Never heard of them. Are they really good?

Their pretty doomish as forementioned, but I think they're really good. I'm actually really surprised they're not signed. You can get all three of the songs from the Lost Words demo on their website.

I found out about them through Download.com :err:

Hey guys! I just stumbled on this thread and thought I would chime in... I play guitar in Soulpreacher. First off, thanks for the kind words Forest-of-October. I'm glad your digging the new material...It really means a lot! We have been pretty quite lately just writing new songs and gigging in NC and VA mostly.

Your guess as to why we aren't signed is as good as mine :err: . We are in talks with a few interested parties, but they are waiting for us to record some of our new material. We should be entering the studio within the month to begin the recording process. Our new direction is more along the lines of Dead Pictures...so if that is the song you like best from the demo, the new stuff should be right up your alley.

Although it is probably a bit too far for you (but not for you MetalMan0207 :D ) we will be playing December 17th with Daylight Dies (another great band you should check out) at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh. Hopefully, we will get to come up to your neck of the woods soon. Until then... :headbang:

Nice signature btw!!!

Jesus Christ!
Is it really you!?

I can't wait to hear some new material. Sounds like it's gonna be great. I really like when people from bands like yours take the time to respond to their fans (actually, it's kinda wierd that you found this) but the only problem is I never know what to say o_O

Anyhow man, great to hear from you, and again, I CANT wait to hear your new stuff.

Just one last question for you. (not sure if you'll be back) Is there a chance of getting some Soulpreacher guitar tabs in the near future?

Hehe it's cool man! I'm on the Opeth (They are coming to NC this Monday!!!) forum from time to time anyway, and it just surprised me to see this thread up here.

As for the guitar tabs, I never really thought of that. I will talk to Chris about putting something together... It might be fun to see what we come up with :p
