hi anyone checked these out? i played around with their drum leveler, which seems to be great for getting even loudness. as i work mostly with Drum Plugins it´s nice to have it work on them too and not only audio.

now i´m watching videos about surfer eq and auto align. did you get these and what´s your opinion?

cheers
jens

yes i noticed; bought them. drum leveler is great too. you can even out the volume of hits very nice.

Just caught on to the greatness of Auto Align, wow! Not tried it on guitars yet, but on drums, it's excellent. Drum Leveler is really good too.

Drumleveler is really great. The gate sounds pretty good too, but I want to play around with a combo of that and Drumatom. Have only played around with AutoAlign but I can really see the benefit on drums.

Bought Auto-Align recently and it's really awesome on drums. Will try Drum Leveler soon.

I'm super curious if anyone has feedback on the PI plugin? From my understanding it kind of arranges the best possible phase scenario for whatever elements you buss to it. Seems cool in theory but I wonder if some degree of phase cancellation isn't a good thing within the context of a multi instrument mix

Just realized drumleveler added external side chain input! This should be pretty damn useful even beyond the normal use of side chaining a gate with a trigger or strip edited track.

Oh sweet nuggets those seem so perfect :0 I´m sold! I was thinking just a few days ago why there isn´t any
plugins like auto align, thought it was odd since phase meters are so common. Same with drum leveler,
just a tool I´ve been dreaming of! The demo video was amazing. I hadn´t heard of this Sound Radix before, really glad to hear about it
so thanks for the thread! This stuff reminds me of fabfilter plugins, they have some ingenious stuff too..

I can't believe the difference the Auto Align makes. Beefs everything up, even before you apply any EQ. The Drum Leveler is great because it gives you so much control over your drum levels without really detracting from the dynamics of the performance.

Looks like great plugins, but no VST3 support.
So you're fucked if you're a Cubase user and want to use the sidechain functionalities without complicated routing.

MeldaProduction makes cheaper alternatives with VST3 support,
Auto Align 49€ : http://www.meldaproduction.com/plugins/product.php?id=MAutoAlign
Drumleveler 99€ : http://www.meldaproduction.com/plugins/product.php?id=MDrumLeveler

They also have a great "auto level rider" plugin (like Waves Bass Rider/Vocal Rider), called MAutoVolume.

Have only played around with AutoAlign but I can really see the benefit on drums.
Actually I think this kind of plugin is more useful on multiple miced amps instead on drums, where I don't necessarily want my close mics to be aligned on my OH/rooms mics.
I'm also a bit scared to "blindly" move my drum tracks in time like this, after taking so much time to place my mics.

How do you guys use it on drums ? (on which tracks, which reference track are you using...etc)

Also, it looks like these plugins only compensate delay between tracks, and flip the polarity 180° if needed (no more in-depth phase corrections/manipulation, like you can do with Voxengo PHA or LittleLabs IBP plugin).

I was under the impression it lined up the phase rather than just the transients?

"Line up the phase" doesn't mean anything for complex signals.
It doesn't align the transients too, it just "listen" to your different tracks, and it finds the best time alignement combination (= the one that doesn't cancel too much frequencies between tracks, maybe with a better attention to low end), and flip the polarity on some tracks (180° rotation) if needed.

It will have an effect on phase relationship between tracks for sure, but it doesn't apply any phase correction on each track (no more than a 180° rotation).

From the Soundradix Auto align description :
Auto-Align will "listen" to your multi-mic recording and automatically measure and compensate for the delay between the microphones, or between a DI box and a microphone - sample accurately, significantly reducing the comb filter effect and dramatically improving the resulting sound.

When distant microphones are used and a delay is desired to enhance the sense of space, Auto-Align can time-place the microphones to better match the close-mic'ed source and therefore minimize the comb filter effect. Auto-Align can also automatically detect a reversed polarity mic and compensate for it.
