Serj is good, but the first time I heard his voice I hated it. It didn't take too long to realize it fit the music very well, and on Toxicity he displays one helluva set of pipes.
It was the song Toxicity that got me hooked. It was being played over and over in gigs (on the PA), and I really liked the 'start-stop' tempos. But his voice just reeled me in. So then I got the album, and I love it, but the one song that just stops me in my tracks is Chop Suey. Those harmonized vocals on the outro are perfect. I also can't get it out of my head.

Anyway, I went out and bought the other two SOAD albums and SERART on half.com for about $3 each (new). Haven't heard the other two SOAD albums yet, but I did give Serart a try last night. It's essentially Serj and some Turkish dude experimenting with trip hop with a touch of rock in a "middle eastern" flavor. Not an instant hit, because it wasn't what I expected, but I'll definitely give it a few more spins.

Bump for boredom!

Oh man, this would be some kick ass stoner/doom shit! :kickass: <--should move slower

This would be cool:

Peter Gabriel - vocals, woodwinds
Mike Rutherford - bass, 12-string guitar
Tony Banks - keyboards, organ, mellotron, etc.
Steve Hackett - guitars
Phil Collins - percussion

That would rule!
I must admit, that's not bad, but how about replacing some of them with the following:

Bruce Dickinson - vocals
Steve Harris - bass
Dave Murray - guitar 1
Adrian Smith - guitar 2
Nicko McBrain - drums

You see how that works now?

:kickass:

Jimmy Page - guitar
John Paul Jones - bass
John Bonham - drums
Robert Plant - vocals

I think this might work out okay, or at least for one album. :loco:
