Be still, O wand'rer!
It was the song Toxicity that got me hooked. It was being played over and over in gigs (on the PA), and I really liked the 'start-stop' tempos. But his voice just reeled me in. So then I got the album, and I love it, but the one song that just stops me in my tracks is Chop Suey. Those harmonized vocals on the outro are perfect. I also can't get it out of my head.NAD said:Serj is good, but the first time I heard his voice I hated it. It didn't take too long to realize it fit the music very well, and on Toxicity he displays one helluva set of pipes.
Anyway, I went out and bought the other two SOAD albums and SERART on half.com for about $3 each (new). Haven't heard the other two SOAD albums yet, but I did give Serart a try last night. It's essentially Serj and some Turkish dude experimenting with trip hop with a touch of rock in a "middle eastern" flavor. Not an instant hit, because it wasn't what I expected, but I'll definitely give it a few more spins.
