Im heading to South Carolina around like April 16th->leaving on the 20th and wondering if any shows hit there...if anyone knows any that'd be cool :kickass:

God I wish. SC is like the metal black hole. Sevendust is at HOB Myrtle Beach on the 15th. That's all I can find right now. Been in Charleston 4 years and unless you really like Crossfade, Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin (They seem to come thru every 6 months) there hasn't been much to see. HOB Myrtle Beach gets a good show here and there, but they seem to be few and far between. I'll keep looking and let you know if anything pops up.

Heh... yeah... the southeast is not exactly the place to go if you're looking for lots of metal concerts, heh...

I'm moving the Columbia/Shaw AFB area in May/June. I think my best bet for seeing shows will be driving the 90 miles up to Charlotte, NC. I don't have a lot of hope, but it beats the, oh, 2400 miles it would take to drive to Seattle from where I live now!

It really depends.

Columbia has decent shows from time-to-time at

and

Ground Zero, in Spartanburg-- I believe it closed.

Charlotte, NC on the border has some good places:

Augusta, GA on the SC border has some occasional shows here:

Myrtle Beach, SC:

Otherwise, make the drive to the handful of places in Atlanta...

This is the best way to put it....

SC is the worst place for metal that i've lived in. I usually end up driving to Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, or DC to catch a good show. Myrtle gets a good metal show once every 6-7 months.

Other than the occasional show at the house of blues....expect to drive at least 100+ miles to see a good concert

It's still open. They just don't have as many shows as they used to. Their site is under construction too.
I wouldn't worry about seeing too many shows in Augusta. I live here and Sector 7g is just awful. It has horrible sound, poor turnout and doesn't even have a bar. Unless your into metalcore and emo, you should probably pass.

Ground Zero is having a sweetass show sometime in May -- Obituary, Grave, Origin, Monstrosity, Dying Fetus, Abysmal Dawn, and Lecherous Nocturne. I might drive to SC for that show.

Sure, Augusta doesn't have that much, but some decent stuff does pass through-- I've lived in the area for about 6 years and have seen:

Necrophagist
Arsis twice
Alarum
The Red Chord
Quiet Riot (MH lineup)
Skeletonwitch
Neuraxis
Zoroaster
Jucifer a couple times

some others I'm missing...

Nile's going to be in Charleston soon.

Didn't Green Carnation cancel their show at Sector 7G because the venue was.....lacking? Considering the small size of the clubs on that tour, that's kinda sayin' somethin'. :heh:
Nah, their tour bus broke down a couple hundred miles away.

Not saying that they wouldn't have canceled once they pulled up, though...

When did Quiet Riot come through? I was at all those shows, save QR, Zoroaster and Skeletonwitch. I live 5 minutes from Sector 7g and don't recall any of these bands playing, although I'm sure QR was at another venue.

Thanks guys, looks like nothing. Not moving or travelling for shows, gonna see my brother graduate from boot camp haha just seeing if anything else to do since dont get much love here in upstate NY

There is no bathroom there either and the majority of the patrons there are teenagers. I hate that place, but I did catch the Bohemeth show there though.

Quiet Riot played at The Garage in 2003, which the place is now part of 1102 Downtown. They put on a pretty good show.

I saw the Skeletonwitch show at the Firehouse last year. Loved them!

I've seen a few shows in South Carolina in the last 1-1/2 years.

Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, In This Moment, Stolen Babies - Headliners in Columbia

Cradle of Filth, Gwar, Veins of Jenna
Queensryche (Operation Mindcrime tour) - HoB in Myrtle Beach

Years ago, Columbia had large shows there like Metallica/GnR/Faith No More, Rush/Primus, & Metallica/Cult to name a few. What the hell happened?
