South Korea Vs. North Korea

Why is everyone turning a blind eye to this??

Because the only international governing body we have that could actually do anything about it is a bloated, overly bureaucratic, ultimately sack-less piece of shit that exists only to boost the egos of weaker member states who would otherwise have no voice on the world stage.

Not only that, but if any country actually did decide to do something about the DPRK on it's own, it would immediately be shunned and condemned by that same governing body.

Fuck the UN.

china has interest vested in n.korea... and the us/britain/japan and others have a pact with the south.

so... there is a lot of tension (obviously) and we should probably passively defuse this before "you know what".

just my two cents (which is worthless)

TBH I'm not sure China will fully back the DPRK on this one - it would make very little sense for them to burn bridges between Washington and Beijing over a country as insignificant as North Korea.

They even condemned the balistic tests last year, for being a direct offense towards the rest of the world. So they put themselves from "our" side and not NK's one, this time.

There is no funnier combination of words than "pedophile midget" hahahaha

They should settle it over a game of Kim Jong's ass clown version of basketball that only he can win.

Probably not that fair for South Korea though.

The bright side, a possible new series of MASH.

Just transplant the original characters from Scrubs and you have a clear winner. Except the mistakes of the past will not be repeated, meaning Zack Braff will not be allowed to get involved in directing or writing.

Maybe after they bomb the shit out of each other and level the terrain, we can go for some... Korean BBQ?

I was stationed in South Korea along the DMZ at camp Greaves which is right down the road from Panmunjom. We used to going running in the morning and could see that great big North Korean flag. South Korea is a great country I had lots of fun there. Really hardworking people. Its stock full of cheap booze and Russian hookers too.

The DMZ is a gorgeous. The land has been almost untouched for 50 years. Just don't go off walking in land mine areas since the monsoons have been shifting around those mines for the last half a century.:goggly:

I don't know how the farmers can stand it when the north starts blaring loud speakers with propaganda. There is also a fake North Korean movie set city that is supposed to lure South Koreans over the border because they will think that the north looks so developed and wonderful. But the city is fake and the South Koreans haven't been fooled by it yet. It is really ridiculous.

Panmunjom is actually almost like an exhibit at Disney world. You can take a tour bus there and then a solider gets on your bus and you drive around while he points out things like you’re on some cheesy tour. Then the bus stops and different things so you can take pictures. The North Korean soldiers seem like they are part of the show, because when they see a bunch of people they come out and goose step march and carry on. The tour ends up at the DMZ gift shop and people buys t-shirts and coffee mugs. I found the whole thing hilarious.

I was involved in large United Nations simulated battle that involved thousands of people from many different allied countries. The field problem as it was called involved breaking into two groups the U.N forces and the pretend North Korean forces. Then we fought in a big fake war with laser tag type gear and other types of simulated bombing runs etc. The side playing the North Koreans could not use technology that the real North Koreans do not have. Due to the extreme mountain terrain the kill ratio ended up being about one to one. I was in a helicopter assault infantry unit charged with taking high ground from enemy entrenched in mountain ridges. I had the life expectancy of a fruit fly.

That’s shitty man. A real war between north and South Korea would not be a walk in the park for anybody. The world should stop rewarding North Korea with attention every time it misbehaves. Just ignore the fuckers and stop giving them free fuel and food as appeasement. If anybody is going to do anything about them it has to be the South Koreans.

The U.S. and china need keep there fingers out of the cool aid.

There won't be any unification of N and S... why do you think they are fighting? lol

To unificate Korea. Each side under their own flag, obviously, and North being far more passionate about it. I'm sure that South Koreans are quite wary about it (even with the reunificated families etc) since the differences between their economies are ENORMOUS. Like, the unification of Germany times... I don't know, many? It would fuck up their economy for a long time.

Though I've only read two books on the situation of the Koreas, and both were from about 2000 or so. Many things have changed since then, Kim Dae-jung is no longer the president (or alive for that matter) etc.

I really wish I'll be able to visit North Korea before it goes down, I've read some journals of visitors and watched a few photo and video collections. Seems like it's such a surreal place that you constantly feel weirded out. I can imagine it's sort of like living in the book 1984.
