What's Your Opinion Of North Korea Firing Four Missiles Today???

I wasn't going to get involved either but...

As a Norwegian, and one that's been to many countries, from the middle east to USA etc, I've gotta say this. There's no other country I'd rather live in than Norway. We have acording to UN statistics the highest quality of life in the entire world, but that bullshit means nothing.
When I went to USA a couple of years back no one knew where Norway was. "Is it the capitol of sweden?". "Do you speak french?" Those were the kind of responses I'd get. I'm not saying that this means that no americans have no knowledge of geography, but the few people that had heard of Norway said stuff like "is it true that you have polar bears walking in the streets and do you live in igloos?". Or "do you have electrity?"

"NO! The fucking plane that I went on to get here ran on coal and the fucking runway was lit by bonfires!"

ROFL!! Man, that is hilarious and sad at the same time. I work with a lot of Norwegians here at a tech company, but they've never told me any stories as awesome as that. Fucking Igloos!!! LOL!!!

Ahemmm... sorry 'bout that.
I also met a lot of cool people over there, and every fucking one of you americans on this board have been nothing, but extremely cool people:kickass:

Thanks! I'll add that I have yet to meet a Norwegian I didn't like. :kickass:

You want to talk about Americans? Ask these fucking guys what THEY think.

"Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it."

"You'll never have a quiet world till you knock the patriotism out of the human race."

"Hegel was right when he said that we learn from history that man can never learn anything from history."

George Bernard Shaw

"The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naïve and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair."

H.L. Mencken

Etc etc etc etc etc.

Excellent post! :headbang:

I gotta say, the one thing I find funny in all this is that I don't see any of the Americans who are complaining about how bad they have it here and how much "better" all these other countries are actually MOVING to any of those other countries.
C'mon guys...put your money where your mouth is! Or do you not want to give up the comforts and luxuries you have in the U.S.?

I love how passionate metal heads are about everything - although my wife would argue after being at many gigs and festivals and backstages - everything except having a bath.

Fair trade (as long as its in the favour of the current super power)
Freedom of speech (as long as it is in english and pro superpower)
Freedom and liberty ( as long as you follow the rules of your jailers)

We are not guilty as citizens of these countries for the crimes that have been comitted in our names - we dont even have the power to do anything about it now that is fucking sad. - unfortunately things that are done for our liberty and in our name by the ruling class/people in power are very rarely for our liberty or with our besy interests at the root.

Is it co-incidence that both the major super powers of the now disbanded USSR and the US have both strong foot holds in the caspian sea area - when there is a vast amount of fuck all except natural gas and oil there that the local nations have no way of using of administrating...yet.

At the end of the day a lot of what is going on today stems from the imperial regiem that moved from London to Washington when the first world war broke out. It has been about control over a nations economy by setting up 'fair' trade that instantly puts a nations natural resorces in the hands of countries like the us and europe that plainly have no right or claim to it. A prime example is the almighty fuck up that is indonesia. Whose fault is that - the banks and economists of france, england, the us and japan (before the first world war). Korea was having none of it and thats why the war against communism happened 30 years ago - as the world bank (whose head quaters sit conviniently across the road from the UN)- and it's partners the u.s government couldn't possibly stop Russia from entering the new land of opportunity that was asia so they used communism as a banner to cover their actions.

We were once created equal but sadly money has changed the balance of liberty and rights.

Look at it this way - in twenty years time we'll all have to speak chinese anyway.:p

I didn't read most of the nonsense since my last post, but for the record I wanna make it clear that I said nothing negative or offensive about any other nation. Like I said, I've lived all over the world and have great respect and admiration for many of the people in those places. I have an open mind to just about everything (except male to male contact), and will listen to anyone who can make their point without having their emotions overwhelm them. I didn't see much in the way of facts to dispell what I'm saying, so I'm done here. I do wanna say "thanks" to Kazrog and a couple others for their logical statements and civility.

I have a question related to recording up now, so if any of you commies can help me I'd appreciate it. :loco:

Erm, except for this one, who's waiting on passport, paperwork for citizenship, and application information from KTH in Stockholm.

Yeah, that one bites the dust too when you actually let one respond to it.

I still love it here, but I want to make sure it stays that way. It's a constant effort. America doesn't just happen, it's something that has to be preserved, and part of that process is exactly the kind of healthy debate we're having here. The fight for freedom in America doesn't happen overseas, it happens here. Right now we have a president who wants to end our freedom. Regime change begins at home.
