South Park slays. I need to get caught up on them though. I haven't actually watched it in a long time. I wanted to see the one where they spoof Family Guy.
Overall I think I like Family Guy just slightly better, although they're both great.

South Park has had some seasons where every episode was pure gold, and some that were so unfunny that I found them unwatchable.

I feel the same way, I liked every season till 12; season 12 has been a hit or miss to me. Some episodes are very funny some are just meh.
But I still look forward to each episode though. From what I read on Wiki, they are supposed to by contract keep southpark going till 2015.

south park owns family guy so hard. the great majority of eps from season 4 onwards have been good to outstanding, with many of them being ABSOLUTE GENIUS.
not that i don't like family guy, it's just inconsistent as fuck, especially after season 3 where it actually got pretty bad.

Nail on the head. Overall, I would say it's one of the better shows I've ever watched, but sometimes it's just no good. The episodes can be unfunny and the "messages" can be annoying, stupid and awkwardly conveyed. I couldn't finish the Canada on Strike episode.
Family Guy is shit and an everyone involved in it should be fucking embarrassed.

Haha just watched the episode where the internet was only in a Red Cross shelter in California, and everyone could go on the internet for 40 seconds a day lmao.
Thing is, I prefer the episodes before 2006. Don't get me wrong, every episode owns, but they use current events and pop culture nowadays for storylines.

I agree that South Park can be genius, but seems to go through periods of utter shit. I remember a season about a year and a half or so back being dreadful almost all the way through.

All the old SP episodes (the best ones) had completely made up, random stories, which made them interesting, whereas the new ones are all based on recent events, and have sucked. The Olympics/China problem one was so bad. Out of the new season the only episode I really liked was Major Boobage, cos Heavy Metal rules.

The show's gone downhill since the season wher eit had the Michael Jackson episodes, since then it's too much about pop culture ripoffs instead of original funny ideas. But this show was once great.

South Park would be the definition of Hit and Miss if Opeth didn't exist. The stuff that is good though is beyond awesome.
