I've had a pretty productive couple of days off work, working on my stuff for the "solo album", so here's a little clip of the outtro guitar solo for my song "Straw Dog".

The rest of the song is actually quite tasteful, but I want a big intense and over the top finish, so... yeah, this is it y0.

Ooh and how do you like the guitar tone? I'm using this "Native Instruments Guitar Rig" thing. I was tossing up between the setting that's supposed to be like David Gilmour, and the one that's supposed be Carlos Santana. I went with the Santana tone, rolled a little bit of the treble off and then cranked up the delay. Then I realised that was too much delay, so I cranked it back down a little.

I'm well chuffed with how it is turning out. Hope ya like it.

I sent the link to one of my mates and said it sounded like "cock rock". I think he meant it in a good way, hahaha.

The solo there is triple tracked. I improved the first take and I really liked it, except my dodgy guitar lead cut out for a second towards the end, so I had another go at it on a different track. Then I accidentally played both takes at the same time and I thought it was pretty cool, but then I decided that that wasn't ridiculous enough, so I did a third take on another track.

So what you've got now is three different solos, all based around the same ideas but played slightly differently... it should probably sound terrible but I kinda love it hahah
