Anyone knows that Aphex Twin added his face on the "Equation" song. I wonder if anyone knows other artists that have done something like this.:)

If you don't know what I am talking about, look at this picture:

Whats going on in that picture? How did he add his face to the actual song? I'm confused.
A spectrograph shows the intensity and frequency of audio in often configurable colors. In this case, the louder parts are the lighter colors, darker is quieter, starting from the bottom going up, is the low to high frequencies, and left to right is the time line of the song.

As for how he put his face in a song, I assume he did this with reverse engineering, and made his face into audio, rather than made the audio into his face. Much easier to write a little app that takes a picture, and produces audio as it were a spectrograph reading, than the other way around.

Hey, that acutally sounds kind of interesting. I think putting something like that would work if used in the right situation.

Hey Cryosis, did you write such an app on your own? Could you post it or link it please... interesting stuff!
No, I can't say that I did, it's actually a little plugin that comes with Fl Studio, a budget home studio app. I own a few other more well known, or at least regarded DAW's, but FL is still the only I know that has this functionality.
