SPL Measurement devices

more metal, more booze!!!
I'm guessing it cant be done, but its worth a stab. Is there anyway of using a studio condenser and your daw setup to some how work out the spl of your monitors at listening position?

I know that sound level meters are calibrated to a reference tone and i should just find a cheapo one of these, but before i do has anyone any suggestions?

Would the fact that it ranges only up to 8KHz be a problem?
I saw spectrum analysers that cover the whole audible spectrum (20-20000Hz) but I don't know if that is only frequency-measurement specific or also covers SPL. Would it even make a difference?
