Split coil query

...so if i get a pickup with split coil ability, is it going to be possible/difficult to wire it so that the pickup selector splits the coil rather than using the volume pot??

Definitely best to email EMG about this I'd say, they'd know (unless you're talking about a passive with 4-conductors, in which case it's definitely possible)

i just hadnt made my mind up, lol, i'm not that much of a guitarist, but if i'm recording someone who can play but has a bad sounding guitar, i'd like the option to be there...

I'd love to be able to keep the 81TW and put it in my yammy, but atm my money situation can't justify that :-(

What kind of switch and pickup setup exactly, and what's the end goal? I have guitars with 89's and 81TW's and they both split differently; one with a 5-way blade toggle, one with a push/pull pot.

FWIW, you can't use a normal 3-way LP style toggle to split pickups, or a standard 5-way blade, if that's what you're thinking

3 or 5 way blade was my thinking, but i think its gonne be simpler to just use the pots
