SSL Duende Native plugins are out

Ahh I see! Fucking you is a good thing? :kickass:

Its funny because if you order the bus comp and the channel strip off their website it comes to about £475 or something...go on DV247 (UK though) and they have the "essentials" bundle which is the same 2 plugs...but for £350 :Smokedev:

In this case, yes

Sadly I have to wait until cash is flowing, did not even have 350Pounds for plugins...

But I'll wait and buy them off plugin-discounts, if they have SSL plugins they should be the cheapest store.

Did you use the limiter before or after the compressor? If after then it wouldn't make much sense. If before, then by all means please include it.

Would love to see if convictions would be this strong in blind shoot-outs.

Yeah after it, as I thought...

Need to check the master bus mixes more but its a no brainer on drums.

Hm, would be great to hear the new Snap Compressor from analoginthebox compared to the ones you´ve posted..... you don´t have nebula, do you?

regards

testing them atm and am couldnt be happier. i guess i wouldnt need more than the channelstrip + buscomp.

next week i will have my new xrack with a gssl buscomp, tons of eqs and dynamics, i will post a comparison of "the real deal" vs duende (though not aiming
for scientific results)

I just used its default settings other than the usual attack/thresh/rel....so the range was on full....no idea about the oversampling, whatever the plugin starts on haha

No problem!

I'll give Brett and Ermin the mix with nothing on, then when they have applied the compression ill put my limiter on to make it a comparison to the previous.

Hah SSL totally have you by the balls, if you want The Glue and the SSL CS lets say, you can only buy the SSL plugins seperately on their website = massive £$£$

So The Glue = £60 + SSL CS = £240! = £300

Or you can buy the SSL essential pack which has the CS and the Bus comp for £290 if you order from the USA....

Ok here's the wav for Ermz and Brett to test their hardware/UAD 4K on.

.30 attack, .1 rel, 2:1, 4db GR and 5.0DB of makeup gain is needed to match the previous.

I might have tweaked the snare a little since the tests I did so I hope that dosen't throw it off too much.

Then send it back and ill put the same limiter on the end so the level should be in the ballpark.

Oh somehow I thought the shoutout was gonna be on snare or just drums... Anyway.

So there you have it, done quickly:

With your exact settings, threshold set so that gain reduction never exceeds 4db.

To be honest I would have used slightly different settings on a master bus, but the difference may be due to the difference in the plugins... So for the fun here's what I'd have done (but then again I love loud snares, :)

I used 30 attack rather than .3 sorry! I always see the notches as "." :(

The snare thing would be too dodgy to do a fair test on, what with level/reverb changes.

Sorry for stupid question, but i´m currently wanna run your wav through nebula and use the new ssl emulation from aitb. So here´s my question: 4 db GR? How do you dial that in? Just looking where´s the peak and then set the threshold peak - 4 ?
