Well, I just wanted to throw a suggestion up in the air. See what all you respected metul heds think.

Maybe it's supposed to suck? I mean, it doesn't seem as if they even tried. Or did they? I've listened to it three times, and I just don't get it. It sounds like the tapes my friends and I used to make in Jr. High.

Yeah, those were my thoughts as well, regarding sound quality. Not only did it sound repeatative, but I could've sworn the timing was blatantly off... and NO SOLOS!!! The lyrics were like "shoot me in the head, I ain't dead yet..." I mean, that has just demeaned Metallica to somewhere between cockroaches and the white-stuff you get on the corners of your mouth when you're thirsty (to quote the movie ConAir.) It seems too fake to be true. Hetfield's voice was like Ben Stein's... It seems to fake to be true, but then again, Metallica has been known to follow trends and then do stupid things to amuse their egotistical selves (Ja Rule / Metallica song, covers by Avril)

ShredMan, yeah, the lyrics are so mallcore, its unbelievable. I thought Anthrax may have been an example to follow for the old folgies, but tallica is too deep under the control of Bob Cock to realize what they are doing.

I dunno, man. I saw this Mtv Metallica live thing night before last. And The old shit was going down fine. Trujillio's banging up a storm. But the new shit just stuck out like a sore thum...I mean the vocals were damn WEAK and off key. James seems to be doing better and looking better and feeling happier then ever, but it just seems to me they've been desperately trying to create something different but heavy and failed miserably at it. A pal of mine wanted to give st. Anger as a present at my birthday, I'm happy I got How the west was won by Led Zep. F'n old but F'n rocks!

Sooo disappointed in Metallica. I only heard a few songs off the album but I get the point. Maybe I'll download the album, burn it numerous times, and hand out copies just to spite Lars.

Maybe it`s just me, but it sounds a little fishy when 40 year old men with bank accounts the size of South America are trying to make "angry" music. The sound sucks, the snare drum eats its way through my eardrums, and the songs are so damn repetitive that I can barely stand listening to any of the tracks. I would much rather prefer that they make another Load or Reload, which I actually like(screw me).

Agreed, Forced Anger would have been a better title...one of the most uncomposed and poorly written albums I have ever heard.
