stagefright

To keep from having stagefright heres what I do. I dont know if itll help or not. But before I play I need to get warmed up. So I just play unplugged until my stuff is effortlessley done. Then when its time to go out Im ready.

Yeah, I was nervous to start with but it does get easier. I'm a bassist and the problem I have, which still won't go away, is that when I play a gig I'm so pumped that my left fretting hand grabs the neck a lot harder than I would do in practice, so I get quite painful aching in my hands and wrist, which doesn't happen when we rehearse. Weird, eh? :loco:

Stage fright is normal. I bet The Rolling Stones still get it. How anxious it makes you feel and how it affects you is a different story. Most of it is confidence. However, people that are typically shy have more trouble performing than people that are outgoing. I won't go into any psychoanalytical stuff as I am not an expert in psychology, but your stage persona depends on both your confidence and personality.
