They start the show with "Speed of Light", and then kick into "Kiss of Judas", "S.O.S", and "Hunting High and Low".

Somewhere in their set list is "4000 Rainy Nights" just to remind us why Whitesnake were such a cool band once upon a time.

"Paradise" isn't allowed because Glenn was kind enough to put that clause into their contractual obligation, seeing as it's the worst song in history. Same applies to anything from Elements 1 & 2. :tickled:

Timo Tolkki offers a refund to everyone who bought "Hymn to Life", including those who didn't. A free CD for everyone!

:kickass:

You lose.....everything on Elements Pt. 1 is great, especially Fantasia and Elements.

Anyway, to add to my Infinite and Elements Pt. 1 I'm going to get Episode and Visions, since the majority of stuff they're playing comes from those two albums, and I'll just listen to the songs that aren't on those and the ones I already have.

Timo Tolkki better play one of his guitar songs.....like Stratosphere or Stratofortress....

OK that's nice for you, but even long time Strat fans would admit that they hit a downslide slump on Infinte onwards. :)

EDIT: Oh I notice you don't even have Episode or Visions etc yet...oh man, you started with the worst. Lesson #1: Never make your way backwards through a band's catalog. Still, I guess things can only get better. :kickass:

If they're going to do a 'best of' set list, they'll barely touch their last 3 albums IMO, but who knows....

...it's all a bit of fun in guessing, innit. :tickled:

They could just play the entire "Episode" CD and I'd be thrilled. "Eternity" and "Season of Change" better be in the set! I'll have to see if there is still time to vote.

They'll obviously play Eagleheart.

I'm kind of upset with the people in the Strato forum.....and someone else in the forum mentioned this: that they went right to the fan favorites and picked the songs that Stratovarius always plays at every show instead of taking the opportunity to pick some that don't get played as much.....

Dude, you gotta love "I Walk to my Own Song", such a solid tune with a good catchy chorus. There are selected songs on both Elements I like, but on the whole are not my favs. Part 2 is better.

If they played Destiny I would piss myself

They have to do Destiny man, I know its high on the list as far as the votes in the poll on their website. Plus its probably the best song they ever wrote, the end part of the song after the solo is amazing, alot of heart in it.

I like Elements 1&2... they sound just like ALL THE OTHER ALBUMS!

Heh, that being said, I do like Stratovarius don't get me wrong. I was probably 1 of the only people here who wanted to hear the new gal sing for them. At least it would've sounded different for a change.

Yeah...for all that talk from the studio of just how totally killer the new Popkiller album was going to be...sheesh!

Still would have been cool to hear what they were actually cooking up in the studio...if anything...might have all been a big scam...

The world will never know...

Rock on!

I would love to see them come to my state!!!

Ideal set would be a "chronicle" of Stratovarius' history, starting with earlier songs then progressing to the end and of course finishing with "Eagleheart". I would piss in my pants if I saw that song live!!!

I love the beginning...It is one of my fav.power metal songs

Eh, Timo Tolkki's solo album wasn't that bad. I think if you went in expecting a metal or Stratovarius album - you would be disappointed MAJORLY.

I went in with an open mind, and I really like the album - except for Father. I like the piano bit and the whole emotion in the song, but it would've been better if Tolkki had kept that one for himself.

IMO, Hymn to Life has some of Tolkki's strongest solo's that's he written...

Are You the One, It's Xmas Morning, and Key to the Universe all have great solo's (that aren't technical mumbo jumbo).

I can see how some people says it has pop songs, or it's not metal at all - but for what Tolkki was trying to do with the album I think it succeeded. First time I heard it I was like "What the hell was that?!", then after some listens I began to enjoy the album and the differences he put in the album

Kinda funny though - people get mad at Tolkki for always writing Stratolike songs, yet he writes something completely different and the majority hate it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't really... But I'm not surprised Hymn to Life was a major flop with most people.

Destiny was my favorite.

I think the thing with Elements 2 wasn't so much that it was "different", but that the Strato-like songs were recycled from better previous Stratovarius songs to the extent he was practically plagiarizing himself. I've never heard anything that blatant before. But I guess at that point he probably didn't even realize what he was doing.

I must say I highly dislike Elements Part 2 as the best song off the album contains the lines "I know your name, it's called Mr. Mean. One thing I've learned, you don't know beans." That's all I really have to say about that.
