and your sn fits you well too buddy as you are winning the race for biggest clown. I stated an opinion....I have both Adagio albums and i've heard it all before. I never said i was better than Forte...i said Johan had a more original approach.....wasn't that what this thread was about? who was better?and why.
Fuck having to make a PC comment about how they are both as good as each other we shouldn't compare them. Allan Holdsworth rips them both.
As for fucking myself up the ass.....well at least i have the sufficient penis length to pull off such a feat. Now go put your sisters titty back in your mouth you fucking hick.

I love your use of grammar, but being on a serious note. I love how you put all your emotion out on that last reply, bravo! Just shows how one can provoke another into looking pathetic. I hope you're proud, because I sure am.

BTW, how is that relationship with Silent Realm going? Getting any B.J.'s yet tiger? Going for the big pink? Ahh you're ok. Dont get weak on me boy, see ya around.

You don't look pathetic mate....you just wanted to start shit because i have an opinion that is different to yours.....sorry if i'm not that interested in Malmsteen's french cousin....as i said before i prefer guitarists who leave a little bit of personality on their recordings....like the way you leave a little part of yourself in your sisters throat.
Honestly neither guitarist are gonna make my top 50....i prefer JR over SF....so what.

then we had
BTW, how is that relationship with Silent Realm going?
By my predictions we'll be married by the end of the year...i have a 6 month plan.

Getting any B.J.'s yet tiger?
Mrs Tali takes care of that.....especially since she got the piercing ;)

Going for the big pink?
Maybe you prefer shooting the brown? Who am i to judge?

Dont get weak on me boy, see ya around.

Get up off your knees bitch

Jesterace, you cross the line when you start dragging the young ladies into your obscenity. Not that your rants at guys are okay, but some of us older guys still have a bit of chivalry remaining, and would appreciate it if you were a bit more circumspect in your interaction here.

What the hell?!

Everybody here seems to be judging Adagio and Stephan Forté by Sanctus Ignis. For one, Stephan knows how to play tastefully, and was underplaying a lot on that album. Secondly, the songwriting on that album was somewhat dull, as he hadn't found his niche as a songwriter yet. Underworld has much better songs, not to mention absolutely enormous arrangements, and guitar solos that are just beyond anything you have ever heard. Every solo is carefully structured and tastefully executed, always melodic and never over the top, but when the shred moments come along, you'll shit your pants. Fastest, cleanest, most outrageous stuff I've ever heard in a band context, and never sounding even remotely like an Yngwie clone (not any more than MJR, anyway). His picking and sweeping chops are easily on par with Rusty Cooley, and he does certain things with legato and multi-finger tapping that are just ÜBER.

If you haven't heard Underworld, you haven't heard Adagio. Period.

I have both albums by both bands.

Stephan Forte is technically proficient and classically trained, but I find he lacks a great deal of emotion in his playing. I find a number of songs on both Sanctus Ignas and Underworld to be boring, though I like both albums as a whole.

Johan Reinholdz is also technically proficient, and has a much broader set of musical influences, from the obvious John Petrucci, to jazz, and is even influenced by Mike Patton's work with Faith No More and Mr. Bungle. His willingness to experiment with mixing other styles of music into his songs puts him a step above Forte for me, who primarily infuses classical into metal. He also has a great sense of emotion; there's a difference between playing the note as a note, and playing the note as a feeling. The comparison of Reinholdz/Forte is almost identical to the comparison of Petrucci/Romeo for me, although I think that Reinholdz is much closer is skill to Petrucci than Forte is to Romeo.

I also disagree with the idea that Johan was better on Extension of the Wish. He played much longer guitar solos there, and played faster for the most part, but those are not really criteria that I see as defining a great guitar player. The songs on EotW were in many ways written for the guitar solos, while on II=I, the guitar solos are written for the songs (in fact there are several songs on there that don't even have much in the way of guitar solos). He's what I would call a tasteful guitar master.

i just got Extension of the Wish album by Andromeda and after listening to the clips on their website, part of the reason i got the cd was bcuza the vocals. im listening to it now and i hafta say, THIS GUY SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did they get a new guy on vocals or just take away all of his talent? ... or both. the music is cool, but anyone who knows whats goin on here lemme know. and i dont care if the guy sees this, i want him to know that he's a horrible singer, and prolly got lost on his way to try out for Third Eye Blind. HE IS TERRIBLE!!! ...music's good though. they should bring back the guy who sang on the clips they have on their website.

I agree, restraint can be just as valid a measure of talent as speed, if not more. His solos on the first album may produce more excitement, but his performance on II=I is more well rounded, and he considers the album their first true group effort.

As far as I know, it's the other way around. The guy singing on the clips on their website is the same as on II=I (David Fremberg), whereas v01c354nd51gn5 probably picked up the original Extension of the Wish, featuring Lawrence Mackory on vocals.
