Strangest place to get on the Internet

I know these days most people have access to high speed Internet in a variety of places. Their homes with cable, DSL or (gasp) dial-up.

Internet cafes are all over the place. Heck, even grocery stores now have wi-fi hot spots.

Right now, I'm posting this from a Navy ship in the middle of the Pacific ocean via a very slow connection via satellite. It works, but I've watched paint dry faster than have the Internet load on this machine!

Just curious where else people have used the Internet in strange and interesting places.

I have a private touchscreen (and a touchscreen keyboard) in a private chair at my kidney dialysis center. Only problem is you can't get any streaming videos, so no porn. DAMN! LOL Its a beta system they are testing at our treatment facility. It has Direct TV, internet, XM Radio, and tons of games. Makes the time fly by.

The strangest place I have every accessed the Internet would have to be, in a Greek Air Force Patriot Missile Defense System Control van on the island of Skyros. Those Greeks love their Internet.

I routinely use the internet on a USAF C-17 at 30,000 feet. I've heard from some aircrew buddies of mine that there are a few strip clubs in Thailand that have it. Not sure why you would need internet at the titty bar.....

Hmm, nothing as special as you guys - thank you for your dedication and service!!!!!!

The only thing I can think of is on my way down to Houston for Texas Madfest. I got all the way there but had trouble finding the exact location of the hotel. After circling the area for nearly 10 minutes, I pulled into a parking lot, took out my laptop, hijacked a signal from a nearby restaurant so I could get on Google Maps and find the place. Maybe that's not so strange, but it's all I've got

As for the strangest place I've accessed the internet....in a small, dusty, open-air store in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. Featuring roosters and chickens running around the dirt floor, geckos on the ceiling waiting for supper, and flying roaches the size of army helmets buzzing around picking off mosquitoes in mid-air, and coca-cola served room temperature.

Believe is or not, despite the conditions, the internet workd quite well.

Actually I'm a civilian doing direct fleet support right now. I get off of here in a few days. However, I'll forward your well wishes to those who are serving on this ship. I work for them, so I'm with you in making sure they do their job well.

Not quite miraculous, sure, but we ARE talkin' about Tennessee, here....

At my Nephew's(9), and then again at my oldest Niece's(6), birthday parties. They were held at a place with those giant blow up jumper and slides. They have an "adult lounge" which is a nice quiet room with a flat screen tv, massage chairs...and and computer. Snuck off at both parties and got online.

At my Nephew's party......I busted in on my mom already in there.
