Streaming of Exodus in studio

If you use 400 and 800 at the same time, you get clicks and cracks during the playback because it's the same bus and you can't use the same bus with 2 different speed. You can only use fw800 with an express card.

well im running 800port to 400 drive and 400 for the 002 and daisy chaining backup drive on another 400 from the 002, works fine, few glitches but nothing that isnt workable.

Well digidesign never advises connecting an harddrive to the digi002/003.
I don't get why then what's the main purpose of that second firewire port on the back of the interface...
Digidesign's are strange people!

Ok this is what they say on the manual:

"Connecting Other FireWire

Devices to 003 or 003 Rack
The second FireWire port on 003 or 003 Rack is
available for daisy-chaining FireWire devices
such as digital cameras or digital video recorders.
Even when it is powered off, 003 and
003 Rack supply power from the computer
through its FireWire ports, letting you recharge
batteries in connected FireWire devices."

i just have the back up drive connected through the 002 that I unmount and remount when I need it, just saves me unplugging. Suppose I could Daisy chain from the drive but it seems fine.

Hi guys! Hope this thread lives forever! Exodus rules and so does Andy Sneap!!!

Just a few questions here. Apart from what Andy mentioned about the gear he used tracking Exhibit B, what I noticed by watching the Crunch Camp videos on Youtube that there was a rack unit item with 4 big knobs resting on top of the rack case (with the 002 and the api inside it). Does any one know what that piece is?

it looks like the main HDD used was the Lacie Firewire external drive and I noted 2 Western Digital external HDDs on top of that rack unit, the REAMP box and the Presonus control surface.

And it seems the drums were not recorded in that house in the woods in Norway, or were they?

I also guess the api unit was also used in tracking bass and vocals, right?

Rock on, guys! :kickass:
