When billing a band for studio time, if all members are contributing to payments are you making all members sign invoices or are you making one member responsible for signing?

I usually make one guy responsible. Every band I record usually has one guy I really click well with, so we mutually agree upon it

I hate splitting bills.. one billable address only! I don't care how it's done on "their" end (who pays who when) but I care that the whole sum is paid in full at one time and from one "source".

I recorded a 4 piece band a couple years ago and each member was was gonna pay 25%. The drummer and bass player payed me up front... Then the band broke up. The drummer and bass player either wanted their money back, or wanted the recordings. Emailing and messaging me multiple times a day asking for the money or recordings. Told them no so many times that eventually I just ignored them. Now I've had 8 of there songs on my hard drive for over 2 years just chillin'. Lesson learned.

The best was when the band decided "meh fuck it lets kick out the guy paying."
It was quite funny when I told them they couldn't continue until the guy who paid said ok. They were actually surprised that I wouldn't let them continue.
