I'm not sure if this fits the bill, but Revocation is an excellent technical death/thrash band. I recommend their album Empire of the Obscene. I haven't listened to their latest album (Existence is Futile) yet.

I'm the guitarist; I wrote the music and lyrics to basically everything. Curse of Enthrallment was a creation of Charlie's, our old bass player, so that was kind of 50/50 with me arranging the stuff he created, and then Matt, our old singer, helped out with the lyrics to Call of the Ghoul and Unholy Ceremonies.

The Black Gate, Abominations, and Spires of Inferno, however, are 100% my creations, written when I was 16. We played our first show 3 days after my 17th birthday.......
