I assume this includes what you already have, cuz buying 3 interfaces seems a little bit loony  And I'd pass on the Powerball and get a Savage (there was just a thread about that), and get an Engl Pro cab instead of a standard, or a totally different cab (Randall XL's are great bang for the buck) if you can't afford the pro, but otherwise, looks good!

Unless you already have done, spend your money on acoustic treatment. Look at the Ghost Studio kit, it costs around £1500 and is great for multipurpose studios. It'll increase the quality of your work more than any other piece of kit can do.

Yeah, I think the list is what he already has.

I'd maybe shoot for an additional set of monitors, maybe a setup that includes a Sub?

i assume you already have a decent space to work in and treated acoustically?

if not, all that gear is worthless.

actualy i dont have any acustic treatment im hesitant to put up anything cos im already cramed for space and the room im working in is not going to be for more than one year but im going to look into making some homemade bass traps and broadband absorbers that can be moveable. I can do this on the cheap tho as i work in construction industry and have some contacts so i wont be using any money from the loan for that.

ok here is what i am definatly getting

1.Macbook http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/irlstore.woa/91134045/wo/o16hhhMHA2wF2O0RVe42G05ZwD9/1.?p=0
So say 1400 (if i go ebay i can probably save 300)

2. Cubase 4 around 500 incl shipping on ebay

after that im not definate on anything but im thinking

1. http://www.thomann.de/ie/oktava_mk_01201_mkiimatched_pair.htm

2.presounus digimax d8 around 300 incl shipping on e bay.

now the rest of the money will be used for getting our live rig up and running

1.http://www.thomann.de/ie/behringer_ub2442fxpro_eurorack.htm cost will be split 3 ways so 86 to me

2.http://www.thomann.de/ie/the_box_cl_108_115_basis_bundle.htm again split 3 ways so 190

3.http://www.thomann.de/ie/ld_systems_mei_100.htm 268 yo yos

4.http://www.thomann.de/ie/ultimate_ears_uesf_3_studio_transparent.htm 79 yo yos

ok so thats a grand total of 3123 or if i can get the mac on the bay 2823

Does anyone have any suggestions in terms of the live gear kinda taking the cheap option the mixer is only for monitoring our in ear systems ourself the pa will be for small shitty local gigs but mostly for practise as most pubs nd clubs have their own pa system.

Any thoughts on the extra interface (will be used for triggers) and oktavas?

my current laptop is from hell (in a bad way) and needs to die hence im going to check out what all this mac love is about

Be careful with the Macbook, since you can end up with one of the Macbooks built between October 2007 and today. They have an Agere firewire chip that does not work with ANY audio interface. That is, unless you also buy a PCMCIA add-on card with a Texas Instruments firewire chip.

so does that mean all macbooks? How come they are so popular if they have these issues? I thought macs were built using the texas chipset?

Consult with one of the guys that actually has a Macbook. I know we talked about this when you asked about recording laptops. I'll see about finding the thread.

EDIT: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/andy-sneap/404451-adk-recording-laptops.html

Maybe talk to DSS3. Seems like he'd be the one in the know on this front. James Murphy is also a plethora of Mac knowledge. He's the one who convinced me to go Mac.

premade or diy treatment, as long as you have something, that is the best piece of equipment you will ever own PERIOD.

but imo, if you can't hear what you listening to properly then yeah most of its worthless, can't use what you can't hear. :)

Called apple to find out what firewire chip they are using in the new macbooks was told by the customer care guy that they dont know and knowbody he could put me through to would be able to help me the only thing he suggested would be to call head office in usa and speak with someone in the design department and that even then they probably would not disclose the information:OMG: is it that much of a big deal to find out what hardware a computer is using:Smug: so far less than impressed with the mighty apple but going to try call some other department have a feeling the guy i was talking to was just crap

Ok i got it confirmed from apple the new macbooks are shipping with Agere firewire chipsets. If i wanted a TI Firewire chipset i have to get a macbook pro which are super expensive
