I need a new set of headphone for my studio.....just wondering what are some of yalls favorites for under a $100.

I was looking at musiciansfriend

AKG M80 - $39.99
Audio Tech. - $69.99 =special instant rebate
Nady QH660- $49.99 = 2 for 1 deal @ musiciansfriend

or whatever.....

if you're tracking drums or other loud stuff where you need good isolation, the Sennheiser HD280's are pretty sweet, but they're right at 100 bucks. Sweetwater also sells Audio Technica D40's for like 80 bucks, and they're loud and seem pretty accurate to my ears.

put 45 bucks more money on your headphones and buy the Beyerdynamic DT250. You won't be sorry. they are about 130-150€ or $ and extremely good phones. Those sony's (mdr 7506) are pretty good also as they cost 50e less the BD's...

the sennheisers are really nice like the other guys were sayin. for drums ive had good luck with the vic firth iso headphones. they dont offer superior bass or anything like that, but they have some of the best isolation, which i found is really nice for trackin drums or anything if its really loud in the room for that matter. musicians friend has them for 50 or 60 bucks. well worth it.

I agree Sony 7506's are really great for tracking. They have a really strong cord that wont break. And they are pretty closed so thay make good bass. The highs are a bit bright. They are great for tracking for those reasons. They go loud too. Only drawback is the foam holds water and some super sweaty drummers can sweat them out.
