I really like to have bigger transient hit on guitar before amp or TS (like transient shaper on drums, but thy don't work like that on guitars).
As example best I know are Amplitube's Fender comp on higher ratio and Podfarms treble comp pedal. Such comp that can enhance transient but don't give that compressed sustain.
Wanting to have something like that for my live rig.

Damn, it sound like it could be used as outboard compressor. It really seems as capable of all you need.
But is there something that could do that for cheaper money, not as high-endy pedal. That could add enhanced fender strat kinda punch on strum. I like to use mentioned emulations to have that big driven/ saturated punch while having clear/ not overgained sustain.

The best bang for your buck and pedal that suits your need is the Xotic Effects SP Compressor. I really think this would be the one to get. It even has a blend control for mixing in your clean signal. It's not much more than the MXR's and EH's and blows them out of the water.
