Could you recommend me some good pro kind of rackmount multi fx processor for guitar capable of having multiple fx per patch, midi to switch the patches?

I thought that EVENTIDE ECLIPSE should be good, but the price... it is still possible for me to buy it, but what are other "the best" kind of ones and what are just good work horses capable of doing what i need?

Thank you.

What does the G-major offer that the G-sharp doesn't? (all I'd use it for is delay, pretty much, so I can't see why spending the extra $150 would be worth it)

Looking at the front panel, seems like the G-Sharp isn't as versatile as the G-Major. The G-Sharp seems to be capable of just 2 effects combined per patch, one of which is always a reverb (so you get delay+rev, chorus+rev, flange+rev etc), while with the G-Major you can sum up to 6 effects simultaneously.
G-Sharp doesn't have noise gate, compressor, pitch shift and amp channel switch (which could come in handy).
If you need just a random effect and reverb, then I'd go for the G-Sharp; on the other hand, if you want a little more options go for the G-Major.
Of course they're both good units, both have midi control, TC has awesome effects and I think they're probably the best bang for the buck in their price segment.

What i don't really like, is that T.C. Electronic released those processors long ago... I checked out various info about G-Force, that would seem to be the best of what they have, except the G-System, i guess, but G-Force is released in 1998, almost 10 years ago... Aren't there other companies releasing some newer stuff of like 3-5 years ago? Aren't there some new harmonizers or professional guitar rackmount processors built?

I said this once before, but Mike Gilbert of Severed Saviour uses the $399 TC G Major with his $7000 Engl Rig.

I heard it live doing pitch shifting on a sound check of Death's "Trapped in a Corner" and it was awesome.

He also switched on a chorus/delay sound and was doing some jazzy sweeping stuff on a clean channel and it was also amazing.

Given that most of the sound was due to his own talent, the G-Major performed beautifully with it.

Im destined to pick one up on the good old Americanmusicalsupply.com 3 payment plan. :headbang:

I have read quite a few sources of reviews and what i dislike is that it's said that TC processors (while the effects are nice) change the tone of the sound by making it weak sounding digital kind of tone.

The G-Force and the older ADA MP-1 were among the best and most renowned preamps/fx processors in 90's, and loads of guitarists actually still use them.
The G-Major is an excellent fx processor, and TC Electronic releases software updates regularly, although still putting out new stuff.
Why stop producing something if it's such a big hit, and an excellent piece of gear?
The Rocktron Xpression was probably one of the latest (almost) good units to be produced (about 2 years ago), but also Rocktron still produces the Prophecy II which is about my age!!
I don't personally think a unit that is 5 or 6 years old cannot stand up with newer stuff, the Intellifex is there to show us...

it was said here that peavey users were quite happy with their G-major.
but that recto users often said the "coulor of the sound" was "affected" by the g-major...

that might just be the FX loops of recto's in general...I think they suck, they aren't transparent at all because they are tube driven, and if used improperly they can make your amp sound like ass

You should try to find a used Lexicon MPX G2. Plenty of idiots sell theirs because they can't figure out how to work it.

Whats some good midi pedal boards for g major???

The g minor just is to simple and would rather have more buttons to program patches on. I also hate the fact that you have to use a power supply with g minor but im not sure that you can get away with this on the g major with diffrent midi pedal.

I have an ADA MC-1 and an ADA MPC, love the fact that the MC-1 has in line buttons, and they're TOUGH!!! I've thrown them all around and never had a problem. I'm planning to change the shitty plastic buttons with heavy duty Carling ones, and considering I found both used for less than 100 €, I'd say they're a good option. There's a model, the ADA MXC, that also sends CC messages.
I don't think it's possible to send phantom power from the G-Major, but I'm not sure about that.
Actually, I suppose any midi pedalboard should do the job if you just want to change patches, the other guitarist in my band uses a crappy Midibuddy to control his G-Major!

I want to be able to switch processors patches with ENGL Z15 footswitch through the midi out/through output of the ENGL SE amp and i think all those processors will work that way.

I don't know, the price impressed me....

On OTher boards people suggested me Fractal Audio Systems Axe-FX or Axe -FX Ultra - http://www.fractalaudio.com/index.html
But it seems to be focused mainly on amp and cab simulation which i don't need at all... And everybody prises the effect quality of those two models.

Fractal Audio Axe-FX is my suggestion. I have heard nothing but amazing things about it, there's a 3 month or so waiting period to even get one because of how popular they are... I have a friend who replaced his Eventide unit with the Axe-FX and couldn't be happier.

Jesus, what is it, the Ferrari of FX units? Something tells me that any piece of guitar gear with a waiting period is definitely gonna be too rich for my blood...
