Suggestions For Starting A Website?

BASICS: I just want a site (no blog shit) that I can make look decent. Brief bio, free writing samples, a few mp3s, and possibly a way to download an Kindle/e-version of my book (for like $3 or some shit). Basically something akin to Bandcamp for writers.

Shit looks good for publishers, and I want to get my stuff out there in the meantime.

Where do I begin? Any ideas? As you can tell, I know nothing about this shit.

I got a website from GoDaddy years ago to put my writing and music on there. I use whatever the most basic text editing program I can find and then create the most basic HTML 2.0 code I can figure out. [/1998]
