What bands fall within this category? I think we've discussed some bands, but damned if I remember us ever having a dedicated thread about it.

What are the better ones? And, are they any good?

Is this where that Dolorian band falls? 'Cause I've almost bought their stuff numerous times.

Shining, Silencer, Beatrik, Xasthur, Elysian Blaze and Nyktalgia are pretty cool...

I'll second Elysian Blaze and Nyktalgia. But you'll really want to own Abyssic Hate's "Suicidal Emotions". It's the best this genre has to offer.

Striid is also great.
