Suicidal Black Metal

I used to fucking LOVE 'em (him). I havent listened to it in a long time. I have Gudsforladt and Graven.

Here is one off Gudsforladt...dunno if it's what youre looking for. It;s very "Funeral Doom"-ish...classified as "Black/Funeral Doom." Definitely depressive as fuck.

I hear a lot of Katatonia in this. Not a bad thing by any means, but certainly not what I was expecting. Shall have to try again with an open mind soon.

After listening to it, I thought "here's a song for those who think Katatonia turned to shit after BMD." Not that there's anything wrong with that...referring to the Forgotten Tomb track of course.

The only depressive BM released those past 2-3 years I found worth sitting through was Anti - The Insignificance of Life
Usually, telltale album titles herald nothing good but this one fits. Great stuff.

Xasthur and Leviathan rock my world but I wouldn't throw them in a "suicidal"* BM-related topic.

* yet another useless drag-and-drop pigeonholing temptation

Hmmm.... maybe you were actually listening to an Abruptum mp3 and didn't realize it. :loco:

LOL - no fear of that. I tried to listen to Abruptum once, never again. Definitely not my thing. I've got a CD by a duo called Stallagh that I was supposed to review a couple of months ago, and a few things I read about them compared them to Abruptum - still haven't reviewed the disc, 'cos I just can't make myself sit through it!

Stallagh? I've wanted to get that album for awhile..

If you're not interested in it, would you be interested in selling it to me?

PM me your address and I'll just send it to you at some point, dude. It's not in a jewel case, I just have the CD, the cover and the inlay card. I'd Yousendit a track, but I couldn't bear to have it on my PC, just in case in the middle of a shuffled playlist I got half-an-hour of piercing white noise, weird gibberings and howlings and the occasional *boom* of something being hit in the background (heavily reverbed, natch).

Hey, Thanks a lot!

I was going to pick this up from Vinland Winds, but what with Thule Knight passing away, i lost that opportunity

This thread rules, I've downloaded and enjoyed every song posted so far (except the Abyssic Hate mp3, which was all corrupted and made weird noises at me).
 I had the same thing happen to me with that file today, i thought maybe i just downloaded it wrong..

That Mortifera track (Aux confins des tenebrss) which someone uploaded is very good indeed. The contrast between the soothing accoustics and his banshee howling, which also Peste Noire do very well, is really amazing and gives me some serious shivers.

Now that some time has passed, would you say that its album is of the same, and lasting, quality?
