Right, have just returned home after the first day (I hate camping, that's why...). As
for the weather, yeah, it was really hot, but still better than rain, eh? Lots of victims of sunburn were lying around though. Or was that due to a rather uncontrolled consumption of alcoholic beverages? ;-)
Anyway, Macabre delivered a killer set (no pun intended ;-)) and probably the song title of the festival: "The vampire of Düsseldorf".
Was also really impressed by God Dethroned who never managed to fully convince me with their studio outputs, but literally blew me away live. Great gig indeed.
Therion were next, but somehow started to bore me after a couple of songs so on I went to spend some of my hard earned Euros at the metal marked.
Managed to support the Israeli metal scene even and bought a dvd by Salem, featuring a performance at the Barbie Club Tel Aviv from 2003 and some promo videos. Am watching it at the moment, very impressive indeed. Hope I'll get the chance to see the band live in the not so distant future. Also really like my brand-new Opeth girlie shirt.
Right, so my personal highlights of tomorrow will be Dark Tranquility, Opeth and In Extremo (all playing in the evening), not sure yet whether I'll make it in time to catch Krisiun's performance in the early afternoon. Would love to see those Brasilian death metal wizards again...We shall see...
