azal didn't show.

bfs didn't show.

mindspell was fun and enjoyed polish food.

the black metal band that opened for sunn pretty much sucked. to make matters worse/funnier, you know how hipsters are into black metal nowadays? yeah, well, the band knew that too, and were pissed about it, and i dunno why they played in WILLIAMSBURG if they were going to make comments about the (idiotic) hipster kids (idioticly) hipster-dancing during their set.

someone in the crowd yelled "I LIKED THIS BETTER WHEN IMMORTAL DID IT" and the singer yelled back "I LIKED YOU BETTER WITHOUT A FUCKING FAUXHAWK" which was hilarious though.

growing was great, sunn was great, not fat at all, tons of smoke, etc. all of us were too old to stay for the whole thing, though.

I still remember how after the Sunn set I saw there were all these scene people pretending they had witnessed the most important show of their lives. Oh yeah, one-noteage really entranced them. In repetition the emergent qualities of the themes came out. More things in italics.

yeah, i decided i didnt really like this band very much, so why spend money to see them, then have to stand around at northsix, feel compelled by boredom to buy beer, since its not exactly a comfortable hang place, and hang around with a bunch of non-social people. i did get together with my nice friend from CT though beforehand for some coffee. he used to play in Cable. does anybody here like doom?

the show was super-duper packed!

I dunno about emphasizing the themes and whatnot but I saw a bunch of dudes in robes half-hidden by smoke and red light play music that made me think of evil druids. it was fun and not boring/usual. there are probably a lot of ways to appreciate that show, not the least of which is some kind of intoxication (I had two beers over three hours and that's it, so I appreciated it completely on a sober level).

i really really really loved growing. like. LOVED. simon is really cute and nice.
sun0))) filled the place with people AND smoke AND red lights it was pretty intense, i didnt stay for the whole thing because i was twitchy and couldnt hold still for that long.
i loved the fauxhawk comment... that band was ick.

I saw them once, it was fun but I don't know if I'd really be interested in seeing them again, though I'm intrigued about the performance artist they supposedly have with them? Anyway I had no idea this show was even happening. I'm out of the loop.

yesterday was my last chance to see a friend in NJ that I haven't seen in like three years so I went to New Brunswick instead.

I saw Sunno))) last summer and will see them again in Croatia in January, plus I hate you guys, so I figured I would miss out on it.

I would have loved to make fun of hipsters and potentially get my ass kicked by a large group of men in women's jeans with popped collars, though.

Black Metal band sucked, Sunn and Growing ruled. Alex and Minx where cool and the evening felt impossibly un-awkward which is a first for me vs strange people I don't really know.

I don't think Minx sneaked a pic on me.... WEASELED OUT!
