What would be good and cheap gadget to be able to switch between monitors and headphones? I have EMU1212 which has no phones output or anything, only 2 outputs, left and right. I know about Mackie Big Knob, but I dont want to spend that much money

It's a passive volume attenuator unit with an average-sounding headphone amp in it. Allows you to switch between 2 sets of inputs, 2 sets of monitors, mono/stereo. It's a MUCH better unit than the Big Knob (as in it doesn't degrade your sound as much as the Big Knob does). Best volume control/switching/headphone unit at this price IMO. The main drawback is that the headphone amp doesn't really sound fantastic, but it does the job.
