Ya know i've never even heard Symphony X and people talk about them like they are The kings of rocknroll. I have the Allen/Lande album but in my opinon Jorn makes that album, russell allens vocals on it do nothing for me. Are they really as good as people make them out to be?

1. Not sure I'd classify SX as "rock n roll."
2. Tough to draw comparisons between The Battle and SX material considering Russel only sings on about half of it. It wasnt even his project and I doubt he had much input as to the direction of the album.
3. What has held you back from giving them a try? It's basically like sitting on a winning lottery ticket!!!

This is a thread that I am watching with interest. Based on the results so far (80ish% positive), I am assuming the ones that bitched about Evergrey returning last time haven't voted yet.

Hell Yes!!:kickass: Last time i saw Symphony X was at the Galaxy in LA. It was an amazing show. One of the most memorable shows in a long time for me. If Symphony X & Redemption play on the same night, I have no idea what i will do with myself. Hope Glenn supplies oxygen this year :goggly:

Glenn, that first line made my heart feel something it had never felt before!

As long as the new SX album is out a couple of months before PP8, then hell yes. If the new platter isn't out by then no.

I agree that it would be nice for them do to something special if they did play PP8. It would be their FOURTH time playing this festival. Hmmm. They don't have a live DVD, do they? Hint...Hint...

Depending on how the new album strikes me.....
They were great at their last PP show, the Odyssey is my favorite album, but depending on how the new material is, I need to hold my vote.

Symphony X is absolutely incredible and they need to be there next year. They are the ones that got me into progressive and power metal in the first place.

Actually I'm hoping they'll be on Saturday night cuz I'm always tired and falling out my damn chair friday night by the time the headliner makes way on stage!!

While I do like SX a great deal, and I've been lucky enough to see them live twice, I still would rather see bands we haven't seen yet. That's just my opinion and not an invitation to those who'd love to flame me.

I share the same opinion with you.

You could never go wrong with Symphony X. One of my favorite bands. With that said, I would like to see something special rather than just an ordinary show. And I would kill to see Damian Wilson in any format, especially together with Russell doing some Star One!!!

Maybe we could get Threshold as well and just have Damian come over as a guest and sing some tunes with his old band as well as with Russell. Can i dream?
