Tandjent: New technical extreme prog metal

Has anyone heard of Tandjent here? They're an excellent mix of extreme and technical prog metal. First listens may evoke Meshuggah, but I also hear a lof Cynic, SYL, Death, Spiral Architect, and even Linear Sphere here.

I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks of this new band. Great debut. One of the best of 2005 indeed.

It's not fair for me to say too much on this since Tim's a friend of mine and it's difficult (even for good old objective me, teehee) to keep a distance since I've followed the emergence of this album for a bunch of years... but plenty of people should definitely check it out because I'm sure many will like it! And it's definitely very well made... the production is completely stellar for being a low-budget home recording. Better than most full metal studio productions, actually. Definitely check it out.

And I liked batmura's review of it, believe it or not.
