TAROT TO PLAY IN PROGPOWER USA XI

Tarot will make its first ever visit on American soil on 11th September 2010 @ ProgPower USA XI, Atlanta!

.

You may be able to get a copy from The End or other places if there's no american release date pending, they're pretty good about getting a few copies, they do that for elvenking tracks, i know.

And hopefully by the time ProgPower rolls around that there will be a US distribution of their new album! Can't wait!!! :kickass:
Wait? Why wait? I sure as hell won't. Going to order for release date from Record Shop X.

Heh, love the graphics on the album cover. Amusingly sinister as only Tarot can be.

Not one for ordering overseas for an album. Prices tend to be very high. Hopefully a US distribitor will have it soon after it's released.

It's often that the US releases lag the European ones by several MONTHS :(

Suffer Our Pleasure, is my favorite Tarot CD followed closely by Crows Fly Black.

I find the Record Shop X prices to be mid-range and the shipping cheap and quick. That's why I shop there.

kewl!!! I'm not too familiar with this band, but I love Marko's vocals in the Nightwish albums and Northern Kings, as well as his stuff in Aina the Metal Opera. I really like the album cover. I'm going to yotube their material

edit: Holy Crap!!!! is that Marko?!?! he looks...clean. The music is awesome, that is definetly's Marko's voice

I have seen that SOP and CFB are the popular Tarot CDs in not just this thread. But, they have such an extensive catalogue. Are those old albums not representative of their sound now and are they just not worth tracking down?

I know they're not all in print. Hell, CDInzane has the old albums re-released for like 25-35 bucks a pop. But are the old albums just not that good?

Tarot has always been on top of their trade, but of course the "sound of the decade" can be heard on the older recordings. When thinking about it, even when the first albums were recorded in mid/late 80's they still sound very fresh.

If you wish to learn about their back catalog, I recommed listening the remastered CDs backwards in time. The remastered CDs have awesome sound and include 2-6 bonustracks each. I bought all 6 of them at once back in 2006 when they were released after a loooong wait. :)

Btw. RecordshopX.com has all the remastered Tarot CDs available. A peek at their website will be worthwhile, I reckon :Saint:

They are all good, but dated. Spell of Iron, especially, has a distinctly 80's-metal sound to it. The newest albums (For the Glory of Nothing, SOP, and CFB) are far more representative of their current sound, and, likely, most of their playlist at the upcoming ProgPower show.

My absolute favorite is For the Glory of Nothing, from 1998. IMO it's pretty much perfect. Suffer Our Pleasures is #2 for me, and Stigmata #3. All of their albums are worthy though, even the earliest ones when they were still developing.

I'm definitely not waiting until April - Recordshop X, here I come....:kickass:

If you want a taste of the older albums buy the 2 disc The Best Of Tarot. It has material up to, but not including, Suffer... RecordShop X has it for a good price. I love Crows... best, followed by Suffer, and while the older material is good, it wasn't good enough to drop over a $100 on it all - the compilation was enough for me.

I just picked up my copy of Crows Fly Black. If I love that one I will get this new one! Can't wait to see these guys in September! Marco rules!

"Crows Fly Black" is phenomenal. My other favorites are "To Live Forever" and "Spell of Iron". "When Things Crawl at Night" is haunting!:kickass:
