Team Fortress 2

I'm glad they're using modern technology to bring out something that doesn't look completely REAL. A more cartoonish base is definately a cool idea for TFC.
 
its a waste of technology if you ask me. its cartoons with the latest shaders, highest draw distances, and havok physics... whats the point?
 
Because no one else has done it. Its a good break from the realism race.

for a reason, a majority of the players will think the cartoon-ness is lame, people like realism, I think they ran outta ideas and thought if we just make it like TFC and make it cartoony, it will give it a whole new feel. Which it does, but come on, its so lame.
 
If you look at how the game is played, and the skills each class, its hard to justify it as a "realism" game. The Spy, for example, has invisibility. the Heavy, has a huge fucking machine gun he carries around. Pyro, flame thrower, demo man, etc.

Based on how the game is layed out and how the game play is, I think the cartoony structure is a great idea, and suits the game very well.
 
i don't get how it took that long to make that. i'd assume it wouldn't take years to make those kind of graphics and its not like the gameplay is super complicated or something. lazyness?
 
I mean, don't get me wrong, it looks cool.

but their concept looks to be EXACTLY the same as the original TF.

Why play it when you can just play Team Fortress Classic for Half-Life instead and also for FREE?
 
I'd rather play portal ^^

but seriously guys, the whole "many years" approach is old now. they didnt even start with it until perhaps a few years ago.

not that I'll be playing it or anything.
