Terrorist attacks in London

I still think Chirac needs to be considered as a suspect. or Dev :)

In prevision of my failure at english exams for which I'll get the results on the 12th?

I cannot say no :loco:

Shit still :erk:

Nearest bomb to me was about 500 metres away at Moorgate station. I work in the centre of the financial district, so it's pretty chaotic around here right now. No tubes or buses are running (I had a two mile walk from the station to the office this morning once I realised what the hell was going on). Police and emergency service vehicles screaming about all over the place with sirens blaring.

As is usual for London when bombs go off, most people are pissed off about being made late for work... No one seems overly bothered, but some of the foreign workers here seems a little freaked out. We Brits will just have a nice cup of tea and get on with our day :)

This is exactly why I voted to keep Monarch rule over here.

Well, okay, I didn't vote at all, I was too young at the last referendum :(. But I would have!

Did they? When I was watching CNN many of the cops were smiling and joking and most people looked to be calmly going about their day. Stark contrast to 9/11 reactions.

Well, I just read a report about tourists wanting to get their asses home as fast as possible. Besides, don't you think quite a few Londoners will get butterflies when they get on the buss or subway from now on?

glad to hear you're okay.

Ayeka, where do you live in relation to London?

Plymouth, which is in the south-west, long way from London. We do have the dockyard here though, my mate who lives near there says there's been helicopters flying over every two minutes. I can't see even the most desperate raghead trying to bomb here though, none of them have even heard of Plymouth I'll bet! :loco:

Yeesh, seeing that exploded bus over and over is real wierd. That just doesn't happen in London, y'know? Feels like an episode of Doctor Who or something :erk:

when I was a kid like all good Massachusetts children my parents took me to see Plymouth Rock :)

my roots go way back heh heh fortunately buckled shoes and these ridiculous hats have gone out of fashion:blush:

This blows.

I wish the small indignant groups of the world could accomplish their goals like Pie Man.

Oh great, another conspiracy. I can't wait for the documentaries to come around
There was a rumour that a police sniper had shot a suicide bomber at Canary Wharf, but that was refuted.

Official story now is that there were only four explosions. Official death toll so far:
Aldgate - 7
King's Cross - 21
Edgware Road - 5
God knows how they're gonna figure out how many people were on the bus...

Well, the point of terrorism is to cause fear, and they certainly succeeded in that.

I think that, what with the IRA and all, us Brits are fairly used to terrorist attacks. I wasn't really phased by it, and neither were any of my friends or people I know.

hardly the first terrorist bombing in london, and certainly not the last

Course I remembered about all the IRA shenanigans, but I was either too young or not even born when that was a big problem. Barring a few of their incidents, this is really my first taste of bombing on English soil...
