Hi,

So i bought myself a Mesa boogie 2x12 with vintage 30 and i thought i A/B it against Engl PRo 4x12. As many now a Mesa oversized 4x12 in Europe costs ALLOT, and i thought if a 2x12 will cut it for recording then i can get away with spending less cash :)

Both cabs complement each other allot and its cool that same speakers (vintage 30) can sound so different. If you want to cut it up and loop it in your DAW the bpm is 185. Recorded with Single sm57 with Triple X.

I've always loved the look of those Mesa 2x12s. They look like if they were angle mounted on a Mad Cat they could shoot LRMs or something.

Anyway sorry I can't listen yet as it's late here, but I look forward to checking it later today. Congrats on the purchase!

you don't need it :D

Hahah oh yes i do :p Together they are the perfect match :D

They both seem to have their own charm.

Any chance of a standard tuned clip with the JSX and the two cabs? :D

Hmm Standard tune clip, dont think so. But i can say that the JSX and the Triple X can be dialed in to sound almost identic to each other. The JSX has a preamp control , same as the 5150 which makes it really good if you slave amps.

Cheers

did you break in the speakers before your recorded. I made that mistake. My Avatar was bright as hell until I ran a 60HZ sine wave through it and cranked it up at band practice. Now its almost too dark for jamming, but recirding soudns much more natural and not as brittle.

The sound will change a lote the more you play it.

mesa more brighter, it's not good for me. my choise - engl. mic position is identical ?

p.s. i'm still waiting my mesa recto 4x12 )
