Okay, Matt aka Splatt88 was kind enough to transfer my midi drums into a cool sounding DFHS setup, i still like the AD drums as well, but im really curious what the people here think sounds better.. check this out:

http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/546041/new TGM song AD drums VS DFHS.mp3

The clip starts out with the AD drums, then at 0:09 it goes to DFHS.. then back to AD drums at 0:25, and back to DFHS at 0:46 for the last time.

Decisions.. decisions..

Keep in mind it was mastered with the same settings, so one clip does sound a bit different then the other, but im after the drums anyway.

My personal opinion, i love splatt's snare more, more attack, more room... i like AD's kick more though, a more rounded low end sound.
The DFHS hihat destroys the AD hihat, and im even on the cymbals.

Poll added.. thanks for listening.

Addictive drums just sound more full to me I guess. DFHS definitely has its perks but if its just one or the other I'd say AD. Is there any reason you couldn't take the best of both?

I'd probably prefer different ones on different days haha. Both sound good, there's something I was digging about the kick and the low end of snare on the AD though.

It's a tough call, but i'd take superior i think Bob. The AD drums kind of come out and say "Hi, im actually a sample everyone!". But its a very tight one and on a different evening I might've voted the other way heh!

Does it count if I vote for my own? Haha, but seriously I think Bob is right about the AD kick being a lot better than the sound I have in mine. Mine is the Superior 2.0 kick mixed with a Deftones kick I took from Around the Fur. I really like the snare and OHs in the DFHS clip. The drum setup I used is an exact template as the one I used in the latest song I posted here. No changes were made except for some velocity changes in the midi file. The thing I don't like about the AD snare is that it sounds really fake. Bob did a great job of fitting the AD snare into the mix though.

i think the AD sounds fuller and more natural, but I think you've done a kickass job in the past using DFHS. This clip could probably use some tweaking on the DFHS side.

Thanks man! Yes, I think the DFHS would definitely benefit from some tweaking and a mix done by Bob himself to suite his style. I was surprised that my drum template fit reasonably well without any tweaking though!

I think the AD sections had a much better kick sound, but everything else sounded alot better and more real with dfhs. The AD drums sounded a bit artificial, but that's not an issue with kick drums and this kind of music anyway.

DFHS wins because it fits in your mix a lot better IMO. AD is more organic and boomy sounding and i think your song needs a more mechanical tight sound like DFHS had.
