That other Comic Book thread

Thor looks a lot better than the Cap film. Still think some of the casting is off. Plus I am not pleased with casting the girl from Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist as the funny one liner person. No need for that in this film. What really stinks is that this Thor film is nothing but a step to the Avengers. They should have done the Thor film after and keep Thor like how they did in the Ultimates.

I dunno, I am really liking the Capt. America movie so far! I think that's gonna be my favorite, between it and Thor. I LOOOOOVE Thor, but it doesn't look as good.. plus, I didn't see Sif. Need Sif!!

I stand corrected!! That'll make his "love interest" (Natalie Portman) a little awkward, won't it?

I mean, not that I wouldn't love to see Sif punch Natalie Portman in the face... lol "He's MINE, whore!"

It depends if it is a real "love interest". Course, Jane Foster WAS a love interest of Thor in the comic book. (Make you wonder a bit about Thor, since he's supposed to be married to Sif. Then again, Marvel had always played around with their mythology...)

It goes back and forth. I'm not a huge Thor reader, but when he knows who he is, and he's hanging around Asgard, he's all about Sif. Not sure about who he's with, currently.

Bob,

Just found this bit of info on the Captain America movie.

There's been some concern that Nazis won't be making an appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger. Fred Van Lente, who wrote the movie prequel "Captain America: First Vengeance," tells Newsarama we will be seeing Nazis in the form of Hydra:

Captain America: First Vengeance is chockfull of Nazis, particularly once we start getting into Johann Schmidt’s origin in chapters 3 and 4. They’re not downplayed. Schmidt runs an organization called Hydra, which starts as a part of the Third Reich power structure, and so therefore they are Nazis.

I can sort of see why people are like, they’re not seeing a bunch of guys in SS uniforms or Gestapo uniforms running around in the Super Bowl trailer— that’s because many of the Nazis in First Avenger wear Hydra uniforms.

It is not some kind of rewriting of world history. There are Nazis in the movie, I’ve read the script. It is not trying to pretend that the Nazis didn’t exist, or that World War II didn’t happen the way we all know it from history.
