what the allies did in wwII was the absolute right thing. the nazi regime had to be stopped.
but the british airforce also killed thousand of civilians during the bombenkrieg-which was evidentially not necessary.

Probably the only good way to phrase that point - and with your being a history student I'm sure you could tell us all how horrific the Dresden firebombing was, as well as exactly how much good it did for either side's war effort.

shit, i oversaw your post. my post was sort of repetitive then.
youre totally right. i was to write something about how classic
warfare is of no use in this new situation. someone said that
we have to foremost care about our security measures so that
its impossible to get liquids of any sort onto a plane.
i'd say thats impossible, these people are always one step ahead.
the jihad is one big fucked up problem and you cant negotiate
with the likes of bin laden. but they recruit from the masses.
so yeah the fundamental muslims are aggressive towards the
western world, and they cite the coran, but the sentiment of
the masses can be altered. this is neither achieved by military invasion
nor arrogance.
