Man, there is not one moment in The Night that I consider to be "cheese." The song is superb, as are the others...my favourite part is the intro and the acoustic part near the middle, though...but the song overall is awesome! The conclusion of the song you speak of works incredibly well IMO.

I love the whisper in N&tSW. What makes it so great is that usualy when he whispers its very clean, but here it sounds sorta death vox-ish, and its the only time he's done that. Anyways thats one of my favorite Opeth songs from start to finish.
