Happy Independence Day My American Brothers and Sisters!

Declaration Day

Music & Lyrics by Jon Schaffer

A desperate situation
Forced to retaliation
The task ahead a burden
Men will suffer, that’s for certain
We’ll charge into the fire
The cause, we must inspire
We raise our fists to tyranny
A high price, freedom is not free

The odds are stacked against us
But with our resolve relentless
And arrogance their weakness
Our cause is just, we won’t be beaten
Upon this declaration
Will come a brand new nation
Where men are seen as equal
Governed by and for the people

Chorus
So we make our stand and pray
On this Declaration Day
For independence I will fight
With liberty I will defy
So we make our stand and pray
On this Declaration Day
Give me liberty or give me death
I’ll fight ‘til my last breath

With virtue as our beacon
Our cause is charged as treason
Battleworn and starving
Through the hell of war we’ll keep marching
The birth of our new nation
An act of desperation
We’ll force King George down to his knees
Capitulation

Chorus
And so we make our stand and pray
On this Declaration Day
For independence I will fight
With liberty I will defy
So we make our stand and pray
On this Declaration Day
Give me liberty or give me death
I’ll fight ‘til my last breath

Happy independence day to every American. The declaration of independence is one of the most important and noble documents in the history of mankind! Americans should be proud of this document and its history.

It certainly is! tis the only day of the year were the Star Spangled Banner can bring a tear to my eye ... I truely detest the politians in Washington ... But I love the Ideals this country was founded on ... we owe everything we have them

As a desert storm vet myself from the Army. Although I dont agree with the 700 club
theocracy that we have now. I am still proud to be an american and
I give a big salute to my brothers and sisters around the world serving in our
armed forces.

Thanks to USA and especially to the great state of Nevada for giving the best years of my life.

This country means so much to me. I'm a loud and proud patriot and will bear the colors red, white and blue 'til the day i die. I may not like where our government is going currently, but the fact that i can say that and not be thrown in jail means alot to me. It's the ideals that this country is based on that make me proud to be an American. Being the son of an Chilean immigrant helps a bit, too.

In the years I was in I made it to E-4 which is a corporal. "Smoke me" is a term used when doing P.T. training. It's a way to tell your drill sargeant that you haven't had enough, your tough, you can do more.

Well Corporal Clegg :D , I guess I can dedicate this song to you then:

Beehive hairdo, 45 on the hip
Patrolwoman Saunders, don't you give her no whip
Took me to the station for a breathtest
then back to the bedroom for some house-arrest

[CHORUS:]
Women in uniform, sometimes they look so cold
Women in uniform, but, Oh! They feel so warm
Coming back to London on a 747
Stewardess made me feel like I'm in heaven
Looking up the aisle to see what I could see
She leaned over said; Give it to me
White apron, brown leather shoes
The nurse at the clinic left my heart all bruised
Gave me a massage, sprained my right
Now she takes my temperature every night

[REPEAT CHORUS]

Women in uniform, Women in uniform
Women in uniform, Women in uniform
Commando raid on the Lebanese border
Sergeant Anita, she gives the order
Khaki jacket and a love gun
Baby, I surrender, let's have some fun

[REPEAT CHORUS]
[SOLO]
[REPEAT CHORUS]

Women in uniform, Women in uniform
Women in uniform, Women in uniform
Women in uniform, Khaki, white and blue
Women in uniform, coming after you
Women, women, Women in uniform
Women, women, Women in uniform

[REPEAT CHORUS (fading away)]

I'm a day late but right back at ya! I hunkered in the bunker (basement) last night so the dogs would be less annoyed and I could get to sleep at a decent hour. :D

Great post JD and a belated happy Independence day for all. I had to work, so I didn't do too much celebrating. I don't serve in the military, but I was on guard and/or working hard repairing the machines that make the hot dog and hamburger buns for a good bit of the central Alabama and Georgia area so those that wanted to grill hamburgers and hot dogs for the fourth wouldn't be putting them on light bread (and also for those lazy folks/extremely culinary challenged that wanted a Whopper or Hardees hamburger as well.)
I do appreciate our men and women present and past who have served in the military and our founding fathers of this country. Their hard work and sacrifice has made this country a great place to live in and I am forever in their debt.
