The age old question....

Oh, come on. That isn't even a competition.

The Pink Panther slays Avril, Becker, AND ROMEO!!

Yeah, I said it.

Well becker is more inovative than Romeo 'coz he came in a better time for shredders (80's) and became more famouse.

Well, haven`t heard much Becker(anyone know where i can hear some?)Romeo has always been the almighty in my opinion nevertheless :)

Holy shit due, you have to hear Becker, he is a big influence for Romeo. Check out Cacophony, as well as just some Jason Becker solo ablums (Perpetual Burn). He has ALS, so he has been crippled like since his early 20's so he cannot even play, cannot even feed himself. But, if it was not for that, I believe he would be the greatest guitarist of all time. Just keep in mind that everything you hear from him was recorded when he was 17-21 years of age. Its unbelievable. Go to www.jasonbecker.com to check out a discography. The man is a genius. Ima pet Lasko pivo, jebi ga...check it out. It's awesome!

Whoooooo! :hotjump::wave::grin::loco::hypno::cool::hotjump:

I vote for Sir Michael... if he died after Divine Wings, he would be more popular than Becker  (just kidding, heh... :hypno: :Spin: :ill: )

Uh... hoce to Lashko tako da drma... :loco:

The reason I would vote for Romeo is because he plays so clean and flawless. On Becker's tape he screws up a few times, but he sweeps like a fucking mad man and does some really crazy shit, so its definetly a close call.

I vote for becker as the reasons I said above and
he was only 17
It is such a sad storey
He has a fighting spirit refusing to give up
He is the Christopher Reeve of guitar
He was the original "neo-classical shredder with some really crazy whammy-bar shit" (mix yngwie with Vai)
He was before Romeo
He still made a solo album when he could barely move using the computer.
He is a total genius!
I could go on for days ....

but Romeo is still a awsomme guitar player and they are both in my top 5 shredder. (Becker #2, Romeo #4) And Romeo is a better riffa!

I`ve checked out the website, and listened to a great deal of the clips on perpetual burn as well as Speed metal symphony.Jason Becker is a pure genius! :OMG: As well as being very melodic(very FinalFantasyistic some times), he also shreds like a total maniac too sometimes. Did he play that when he was 17 years old? In that case, i gotta rehearse my ass off if i`m gonna reach that level. I can`t believe that he is almost crippled now, electric guitar has suffered a great loss. After hearing the sound clips it`s also obvious to me that he can be a influence to MJR too.
Who knows what Jason could have played now?

Thats the saddest storey ever.

I think he could of been the greatest guitarist that ever lived if he didn't get that FUCKING ALS!!!

It's hard to say, I think if Becker were still playing today he would smoke just about every guitar player on the face of the planet. So I don't think it's really fair to compare the two, since Jason was affected by ALS unfortunately. They are both living legends to me.
