The Almighty guitar cab

I just recorded one of these for an album I am working on. I have to say it was the second best cab I have ever recorded in my 20 years of recording. The bottom end is sick. I was truly blown away. Best cab ever was a Bogner 4x12 with Vintage 30's. I hope that helps you out a bit. Just an FYI I am adding 2 of them to my studio.

they do look a little heavy, but probably just as heavy as a mesa with a road case so thats not much of a difference compared to what else I was looking at. and hey you can get em with heavy duty casters so for the most part it wouldn't be too bad. And yes that would be awesome to hear!

Speaking of cabinets in road cases and blah blah blah durability.

2 years ago I fell asleep at the wheel of my car and flipped that bitch, amp inside and all. My crate got some scratches but other than that it was good to go even after flying out the window. The head on the other hand got kind of fucked. So I pretty much don't see as to why (unless your on tour 9 out of 12 months and flying your gear around) you would even need road cases for a cabinet.

Glad you came out of the car ok.
My experience is that tolex lasts 3 days on tour......carpet and the mesa stuff lasts a little longer....grills are a crap shoot. Mic stands (etc.) go through clothe grills fairly easily if things shift in the tailer.
Road cases can double the weight of a guitar cab so products like these and the mesa "road-ready" series make a lot of sense to me-- most of the protection much less weight.

I wonder how something like those Tuki padded covers would hold up on a tour - they way nearly nothing, but in my experience with gigging (not touring, though), they've saved tolex pretty damn well.

That's what I had for the loaner aguilar 8x10" cabs I used on the last tour and I think they're fine. The tolex still took a little damage near the bottom of the cabs but overall it was fine.
Obviously they offer less protection but then again an 8x10" cab in a road case would weigh like 250+ pounds. So, the cabs wouldn't survive, say, falling down a flight of stairs, however, weighing 1/3 less means that you are less likely to drop it.:goggly:
Of course some asshole did manage to drop my (rack cased) head and do some damage.

Sorry it took so long to get back. Been tracking guitars for this album and have not time for the net. The speakers in the above sample is Vintage 30's. We got another cab if for tracking and it has Greenbacks and it sounds even better. here is a sample with both Cabs.

Damn that thing's got low end and a half. btw, my friend lives in Downers Grove its not too far from me actually. Small world huh

sounds pretty cool, a lot better than my shitty Randall R412 CXM cab. my cab looks cool with the grate and everything, but the celestion 70 80's aren't all that cool. I'm trying out a mesa and the almighty guitar cab before I buy anything. fuck I'm drunk I probably should've gotten a ride home this morning but I didn't.
