The Avengers

Well, I just thought when he said "nothing DC has put out is better than Marvel's worst," -- That was either a big trolling statement, or something seriously stupid. The Nolan Batman films (not just TDK) are pretty grade-A, imo. I'm not exactly super stoked on Bale being Batman, I think Batman in those movies could have "more attitude" like Keaton did, but he's still good. He plays a good Bruce Wayne, which is almost as important of a character as Batman.

Sorry Captain Beard, I was talking about movies with Marvel characters. If Marvel didn't actually produce them then my bad, I guess we can say Marvel doesn't produce "the shitty ones."

and dude...most superhero movies, comic books in general have plot-armor. You'd think Magneto would annihilate everyone pretty quick? Why not? Plot-armor

I don't actually mind Bale as Batman, but I think he's much better as Bruce Wayne, while I couldn't stand Keaton as Wayne, yet loved his Batman. I think the biggest issue with Bale is the "scary demon voice" he's always doing. It's not scary as much as it sounds like Scooby Doo with strep throat. It's also supposed to actually just be something in the neck of his suit pressing up against his larynx to disguise his voice. But it doesn't make it any less annoying.

I agree, his voice is annoying but I don't hate as much as some because it's a good disguise. If someone is Batman, he outta have an annoying raspy voice to conceal his identity. What else is he going to do, growl like Mikael Akerfeldt? I bet he sounds like that because every other raspy voice disguise Nolan tried to make him do probably sounded worse. lol

^+1, i don't get why people are bothered by the raspy voice thing, i think it fits

also, comparing the marvel movies with nolans batman movies is just :erk: completely different kinds of movie

All I was personally doing was comparing comic book movies based off of specific companies in general. Not really caring about who produced them.

He's just trying to make a comparison that anyone who watches and appreciates film won't take seriously. Aka he's just trying to get a reaction from people.

I was suprised about how good the movie was, after seeing the latest ones this one came out much better than expected. Having so many "alpha" heroes in the same place at once is a hard thing to pull off with attitude and whatnot but I'd say Whedon did it pretty masterfully.

After some consideration Id consider it the best made film Ive seen since the first Alien. Just a perfect blend of action, comedy and production quality. Ive long said that Marvel make the best movies (imho) these days, and this movie put them firmly on their throne. No bullshit from these guys, just grade A entertainment and storytelling.
/fanboy rant

Not all Nevermore fans like silly voices? Come, come.

Bale's Batman is rad. Heath kicks ass. The whole cast (minus the female lead, who blows, perhaps on purpose to make it even more rad when she's killed) is amazing. The plot has overtones that are much more interesting than that of The Avengers. TDK rules, TDKR will prolly rule, too.

That said, apples and oranges. Avengers was AaaAaWesome to an unprecedented level. I love apples, I love oranges. Different things for different times. Both rule. Indeed.

(I don't really like oranges as much as apples in real life, though)

Yeah that was what made the movie so endearing was all the "Joss Whedon-ness" of it all. Especially the ending i've seen it like 20 times cause when i'm cleaning the theater I usually do it during the credits, still makes me laugh every time

The Dark Knight Rises > Avengers

Yes, two pretty different kind of movies are compared. The only thing you've stated here is your own preference, which is vital for us to know in these troubled times. Keep up the good work. Maybe next time you'll tell us how Let the Right One in is better than Battlestar Galactica?

did you SEE dark knight rises yet? you never know man, nolan might shit the bed. i thought that dream movie where the van was falling off the bridge for 2 hours was pretty overrated.
