The best (and worst) original Metallica song post "And Justice for All"

And they probably did this each of the 14 times you saw them live, heh. It's probably their best live song. Everyone sings along with it at that easy tempo - quite extraordinary when you're in a stadium filled with 80,000 people.
On the contrary, the short break is never as obvious live as it is on this recording. Probably because they added a measure or two so that the orchestra could make that echo effect.

And I can't claim that I've seen them with a crowd as big as that, although the crowds at Roskilde and Ullevi probably comes close.

Least amount of people I've seen at a Metallica show - 17,000 (Wembley Arena, "In Vertigo You Will Be" tour, 89?), and most people - 108,000 (Milton Keynes with Megadeth supporting, 92?).

I haven't seen them since the AJFA tour, but I did see them open for Ozzy during the MoP tour. Very cool. My college roommate saw them tour for RtL. They played w/ WASP and Armored Saint. That would have been great.

Hmm, Best, in chronolgical rememberance:

Sad But True
The Unforgiven (not for the song, but the uncut 12 minute longform video)
My Friend of Misery
The House jack Built
Bleeding Me
Mama Said (yeah I said it, Hetfield's a convincing hick)
The Outlaw Torn
The memory remains
Where The Wild things Are (one of my personal faves)

Worst:

Easyily any song from St. Anger... they're practically interchangeable.

The biggest avenue here in Norway, with the exception of our stadium, only holds like 9000 people. I think the biggest I attended was either Roskilde in '99 or '03, but I can't even imagine how many people were there. The smallest was definately Skedsmohallen in '88.

Probably because the song's called "No Leaf Clover". :loco:
See what I mean! :loco:

I don't like Hetfield's newfound singing voice, he was much better beforehand. He could always carry a tune, had a great screech in the 80s and then developed the Hetfield Menacing Voice in the 90s, but now that he croons I just no likey.

Cowardly Lion Hetfield > all other Hetfields

I seen Metallica perform Frantic and an old school medley in front of a couple hundred people at MTV Icon. Bloody hell was that show atrocious. I've never seen so many pretensious crock stars in all my life. I shook that douchebag chester from L. Parks hand for shit's and giggles. "Hey chester whats up my man?" (Bewildered look drapes his feminine physique)

...After witnessing such horrific acts as Limp Bisquick and Corn. I went backstage to see how these rock stars live it up. But all they did was stand outside of their trailors drinking seltzer. Simply faggarific!

best-
the thing that should not be
call of cutullu
fucking ORION

butheaps of good stuff from ride + master

worst-
one particular track on st anger
don't know the titles
its all shit but theres one that really makes me puke

Best: Outlaw Torn (I heard something about an extended "complete" version of this, but I can't seem to find anymore information about it... I'd really be interested in hearing it.)

Worst: "MY LIFESTYLE!!! DETERMINES MY DEATHSTYLEEEEE!!!!" (or any other St. Anger song for that matter)

Do a search for "Fuel for Fire", and you should find it. It's on the australian version of "The Memory Remains EP, by the way.

Are we talking about lyrics here? because I am not sure what the fuck are you guys talking about? Musically Load and Reload to me sound like a collection of interchangeable songs with different titles. The Black album is great though.

The House that Jack Built ... you kidding me.

Fixxxer. FIXXXER. No fucking question about it. Also, Outlaw Torn is quite good, and you know what? Sweet Amber is a good song.

Worst would easily be Shoot Me Again, with Wasting My Hate in second. Shoot Me Again is a complete fucking abortion, the only song on St. Anger that I'd actually call outright mallcore.
