What was the best concert you have ever been to? What makes it so good? I don't know maybe you got lucky with some chick that night or something or maybe you met the band for the first time.

I'd have to say mine was the Anthrax concert this year. It was cool because I was never old enough to see the Belladonna era so that was my chance. Plus it was the second show of the tour so Joey sounded great.

MetalT

Motörhead, November 2000 in Copenhagen, Denmark. First concert I ever went to. And the first concert where I got beer all over me. Some idiot who was standing in front of me had crawled on top of another guys shoulders and he had a big cup of beer in his hand and when he fell down his cup of beer landed on my head.

Tie for me. I saw Yes in 2002 at the Chicago Theatre - clearest sounding show I have ever been to. I mean, no distortion at all, every note crystal clear.

Second in the tie would be Marillion last year at the Park West in Chicago. I've been going to shows for 20 years, and I had never witnessed it where the band had to return to the stage after the house lights went up because the audience wouldn't leave.

(Honorable mention goes to Motorhead at House Of Blues - great show, and I got to give Lemmy a book of WWII headlines personally at the after-show in the bar.)

Was that that hidden exclusive bar below the venue?

I fucking hate HOB.

Here is the best concert I've ever been too.
Anthrax- May 28, 2004: Chicago Heights.
Not only were emtfhII and I right in front of the stage, but we got to film and take pictures of Anthrax. And I met Justin, Buddy, Lordlindsey, ALEX ROSS, and others.
Oh, AND- Anthrax played "Anyplace But Here".
Yeah. That was fucking sweet.:headbang:

A tie: Anthrax 2003 and Nine Inch Nails last summer.

I had a bad day at a festival (yes those excist) and I actually just wanted to see Thrax, get the fuck back home, maybe torch the fucking place before I left. Hadn´t slept for like 40 hours so I was hallucinating. Finally I was able to get some sleep, met Rob and Thrax put on a killer show. That day ended great!

Donington 1988 for me. I saw David Lee Roth for the first time and was well impressed, then we had Iron Maiden who headlined.

Then I would say Anthrax in Colchester, UK this summer. AMAZING!!!!

I guess it would be Mr. Bungle in 1999. Before the show I met Mike Patton, so that was cool.

I honestly don't remember where the bar was - I do remember that security didn't have a fucking clue where I was supposed to go, so I ended up waiting in the hall for about 10 minutes until I finally got pissed off and just walked into the after-show. Plus, I got lost leaving - was real nice asking one of the cleaning staff, "How the hell do I get out of here?"

Got to agree with you about HoB - I'd rather perform elective surgery on myself than go there for a show.

I have to say it was Metallica in 1992 the 1st time in Czech, I was 14 and totally blown out.

One of the most memorable shows of my life was Metallica in the summer of 94 in Miami at an outdoor park. Me and my bud decided to have a road trip all the way down to Miami from DC. I was 17. We rented a car from a drug dealer and went down to southern fla. When we heard on the rock radio station down there that Metallica was in town, I knew I couldn't miss a chance to see them. We bought tickets from a scalper for dirt cheap. Scott Ian came out and played a song too with Metallica at the end of their set. I was already blown the fuck away from Metallica's set and at that point, Anthrax were already my favorite band. I had seen them twice already at that point with Bush. Seeing Scott Ian come out of nowhere was a magical moment. Mr. Wu, do you remember that??

Even though Metallica's latest albums suck, they put on one hell of a show. I wish Newsted was still in the band but I'm glad Trujillo got the part. Too bad Joey Vera didn't get it.

1. Anthrax at Wacken Open Air 2004. My first, and so far only, Anthrax concert.
2. Green Carnation, Wacken 2002.
3. Iron Maiden at Roskilde 2000.
4. Grandaddy, Århus 2003.
5. Opeth, Oslo 2003
6. The Gathering, Roskilde 1998
7. Biohazard, Roskilde 1995

Probably Metallica/Ozzy 8/1/86 or
dead-stage-204fx2.jpg

All the Anthrax shows I've seen are up high on that list too.

Anthrax in may definaetly! I dont know if it will ever be beaten, i just thought the crowd were so up for it and the band were even more up for it! IT felt like for a lot of people, it was 13 years of wanting to see someone so much let out over the course of 1 and a half fuckin immense hours!

Slayer,Exodus,Venom Studio 54,N.Y.C, April 1985 was the most craziest gig I ever went to. The sushie bar got destroyed, people were just insane at that show. Barmaids & bouncers quit their job during this.it was nuts.

I'd have to agree with you on that one with the colchester gig that is....That show was incredible I got a feeling I will never experience anything that cool especially here in the US its not often you get to see your favorite band playing in some old church building that was fucking incredible and no opening acts just topped it all lol the chick at the door didn't seem too happy with me since all I had was a US form of Identification for a wristband oh well amazing show
