Let's talk about The Cure, I've sensed some of you aren't to keen on them. Strange thing is, I could list at least 30 Cure songs I find totally uninteresting, but then there's some that just get to me, first and foremost "Faith", followed by tracks as ""Play", "Halo", "Friday I'm in love" and even "Bloodflowers". What are your thoughts?

"The further I get from the things that I care about, the less I care about how much further away I go"

yeah, i like the early stuff, some of kiss kiss kiss me and disintegration but afther that its all a bit too put on

listen to 17 seconds faith and pornography in one go tho. proper doom

I've got Disintegration on tape, that's dark, yeah. Lullaby scares the shit out of me with that sick videoclip and I really like Love Song. But stuff like Friday I'm in Love is cheesy.

Once my sister made herself a Robert Smith hairstyle and make-up, it was awesome, my brother was sitting in the toilet, he was a kid back then, and my sister slowly opened the door and gave him a nice smile. My poor brother started to scream.

The Cure made headlines in Los Angeles this week, they did a couple shows I think.
I think they're promoting their new DVD.
Yea, they're cool band I dig most of their albums.

me fave song off cure must be In Between Days.it makes me the happiest person on earth, really.one of my fave tunes ever, too.other favourites are friday im in love, boys dont cry(all them happy pop tunes),killing an arab, the last day of summer, love song, lullaby.

mostly them common songs, that is.there are some tho, that i just cant listen to em.respect tho.

Bloodflowers has some good songs either imo. generally, they have some good songs, most mentioned before, but i'm not into all of their stuff.

I completely agree with this.

favs: The Figurehead, The Kiss, If only tonight we could sleep, Forest, M, Lovesong, One hundread years, Apart, Homesick, Bloodflowers(whole album), Killing an Arab...

oh, and they are great playing live! I've seen them twice last year, they rocked and it always rained..

Are you guys aware of the recently released live-dvd, Trilogy, in which they play all the tracks of three albums in chronological order? could be ace.

and I agree, Bloodflowers is a great album. That's the only one I own :Smug:

That;s what they promoting here in Los Angeles. The DVD sounds cool for playing 3 of their album in concerts. :)

i'm not very into cure. they generally put me off (that looks pfff...), but nevertheless they put out some good songs. apart from some of those you mentioned before i'd say "the same deep water as you"...

It's a great DVD, comes highly recommended.. The three most depressing albums (IMO) played back to back, I love it :)

But I love nearly all of the Cure's stuff, I have about 15 Cure CDs, but that's nowehere near their entire back catalogue.. A friend of mine has near a hundred, and he's still finding new bootlegs :)
