The Drapery Falls, Radio Edit.

I guess the solo fades out. Right before the growling begins so the can attract new fans, those comercial mofos. Nah, I'm kidding. But I think it fades out with the solo, although I havent heard it.

MFN had it up for download a while before BWP came out. It also comes on a special promo thing that probably 10 people in the world have.

yeah i heard it, its on a metal cd i have from a magazine. and your all right, it fades before the growls, where everyone expects. i dont know why they didnt just put the growls in anyway, i mean if someone buys BWP on the basis of that, then theyre gonna return it if they dont like growls anyway.

also, the whole radio edit thing is a bit fake. maybe its okay if its gonna be on the big radio stations (which it isnt!) but most metal stations would play the whole song rather than an edit. the only time i heard opeth on the radio they didnt cut the song and that was 'in the mist she was standing' on totalrock, last year sometime i think it was...

When I first heard Opeth I thought the music was stunning, but the cookiemonster ruined it for me. I said to myself that the vocals will NOT ruin this for me, and they didn't.

Now, Mikael's growls rock.

how very explicative of you.

while i'm not willing to believe that a prospective fan would give up on bwp if the growls surprised them (mayh surprised me, too, and i'm still a fan...), transparent is right in that the song should be indicative of their style as a whole, not a dissection to show off the more radio-friendly pieces.

I have the original promo CD to it and it's great, but before the growling comes in, it fades...

I'm hoping it gets signed at the next chicago show! :)

lol kinda like getting raped in the ass until you like it?

It took time for me to like the growls too.

Ahhh open-mindedness and homosexuality ... where do you draw the line?

I am not interested in the radio edit.

The Drapery Falls is my #1 favorite song, so I refuse to tarnish it. Plus, I've heard the Deliverance radio edit and hate it.

The goddamn radio edit ruined everything for me when fucking MFN put it on their website as a preview of BWP. I was totally pissed off because I got the impression that they turned commercial and abandoned the growls. I still fucking hate MFN for this.

PS.: they have also made a radio edit of Deliverance?! Oh my fucking god!! Now the last thing they have to do to be complete is a version of Harvest with EMINEM on vocals...

Jee whizz, some of you peeps are so melodramatic about this. It's a radio edit, who cares? Even if you hear it, it's exactly the same, it just ends before any growling begins, so how in the hell is that going to 'ruin' the original song for you?
