The EDM Thread

Gonna go see Com Truise tonight at The Echo. Fucking stoked about it. Anyone in the LA area should check it out too.

Com Truise kiiinda put me to sleep when I saw them with Poolside and Bondo de Role last year, but I was just there for Poolside. Have fun!

Yes, Im gonna be that guy right now...

This set has been on my playlist the last 2 months, regularly. With the exception of only a few songs, and that annoying ass shout-out guy, this is a perfect progressive house/trance set. Fool fucking destroys it.

After djing psytrance for about 6 years in the 00's I've well and truly jaded myself out of liking any of it anymore. I kinda got into some breaks and IDM for a while, but I'm very much going through a non-electronic phase at the moment.

Good lord no.

I like these guys and my opinion is only biased because of the small fact that they're mates of mine, nothing more:

Yeah Tiesto is my favorite electronic artist. I have a ton of his music on my playlist. Followed by Daft Punk. I like some dubstep as well. And that is pretty much the extent of my EDM enjoyment. I went to a massive rave once, if that counts?

Yeah our tastes are completely different. Not my style at all.

Which rave did you go to?

Daft Punk is groovy as fuck. They are one of the few that Im really keeping an eye on because I would love to see them live this year, somehow, someway.

What dubstep do you like?

Also, since you like Tiesto, if you got 3 hours to devote to listening to that set, id highly recommend it. Fucking solid.

I went to Nocturnal Wonderland last year.

Honestly I like Skrillex. There was another artist at nocturnal who I liked quite a bit, didn't catch his name. There were so many stages of music and such it's kind of a blur. I like some dubstep mixed with metal too like the Algorithm and another I can't recall at the moment.

I'll definitely check out that Tiesto set. I was really looking into seeing him in Las Vegas, and I still want to. Was going to see him in SF before that but the person I was going with bailed. Power Mix is one of my all time favorites by him, and a bunch of others.

I want to see Skrillex live. I heard his set at Hard Day of The Dead fucking destroyed.

I just looked at the lineup for last year's Nocturnal and there was some solid talent there. Markus Schulz, Myon & Shane 54 (one of my favorites), Excision, Datsik, Xilent, Kill The Noise, I could go on...Lot of good shit. Ive never been to Nocturnal, but Ive been to TAO a few times back in the day, Monster Massive back in the day, and I went to White Wonderland a few years ago. Been to EDC a bunch, im kinda burnt out on festivals. You hear the same song 15 times in one day.

Yeah I wouldnt mind seeing him either at Hakkasan. He helped design the club. He is actually going to be in LA tonight. Club is called Create. Fucking hate that place, there are way better places he could play at in LA

It's a bit strange to charge more than double the price for men to enter than women. Gender discrimination? Also that show is sold out except for the thousands of dollar tickets I believe.

Yeah I want to see him at the Hakkasan, he seems to do shows there fairly often.

Yeah Nocturnal was fun and had some decent music. One thing I learned for next time, print out the set and stage schedule to actually see artists I want to see. There were like 7 stages and I had no idea who was performing on any of them (no signs).

I'm not big on dancing, but I do love live music, and there are plenty of dancing girls to keep me entertained. Not to mention the lasers, fireworks, props, etc. I'd go again.

That's some good stuff you're posting STN.

Anyone like oldschool jungle?

Cannot wait for this.

Been loving this style of chill bass music recently. Can't get enough of it.
