Relevant to my interests!

1. Your first concert?
Other than locals in Oly, my first real show was Iced Earth, In Flames and Jag Panzer. That show owned.

2. Your most recent concert?
Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, Belphegor and The Absence. Amon Amarth ruled.

3. The most you ever paid for a concert?
Probably the hundred bucks for maiden, or over a hundred for Wacken.

4. The farthest you ever traveled for a concert?
Wacken, Germany from Seattle.

5. Your all time favorite concert?
Oh shit, too many. I mean this year alone, you got Paganfest (Ensiferum, Turisas, Tyr, Eluveitie, Suidakra, Oakhelm), Iron Maiden and Hellish Rock (Helloween and Gamma Ray). I'd say gamma ray was my high point this year, but then there's the wacken festivals (I'd say 2002 or 2005 were my highlights there)... there's just far too many amazing tracks.

1) *Sigh* Matchbox 20 when I was about 13. I did get a bunch of free condoms, though.

2) The Flower Kings' Pittsburgh show in 2006.

3) $30 for TFK's ticket and about $135.00 on merchandise, CDs and posters etc.

4) 10 miles or so

5) Matchbox 20... Just kidding, TFK show. On that note, When I set up the On the Virg myspace account, I put in an add request for The Flower Kings. The next day, I received a message from Roine Stolt saying how much he loved Virgil Donati/PX/OTV. I sent him back a reply saying how TFK's are one of my favorite bands and their Pittsburgh show was the best show I had ever seen. Roine was pretty sick that day and he replied it was one of their worst shows. I replied that they could have played Abba covers and it would have still been my favorite show ever.

1. Your first concert?
Iron Maiden/Fastway/Saxon... 1986?

2. Your most recent concert?
Kamelot, last year

3. The most you ever paid for a concert?
Two tix for Yanni - $98

4. The farthest you ever traveled for a concert?
Albuquerque to Dallas - 647 miles

5. Your all time favorite concert?
Hmmm... back-to-back nights of Howe II in 1989, or DLR's Skyscraper tour. Nah, Blue Murder/King's X, Lubbock, 1994. Ah, I remember now....

1. Your first concert?
Probably Dragonforce or something, about 3 or 4 years ago.

2. Your most recent concert?
Wacken Open Air Festival.

3. The most you ever paid for a concert?
Not including a Wacken festival ticket: Iron Maiden must have been about £25-30ish

4. The farthest you ever traveled for a concert?
Wokingham to Leeds - 215 miles

5. Your all time favorite concert?
Blind Guardian at Wacken. Or Dream Theater being supported by Symphony X, and then seeing SX's headlining tour was great too.

1. Joe Satriani at Crissy Field, SF. I was 2 yrs old.
2. Can't remember. It has been too long.
3. $250ish for two tickets front row at 3eb on the 10th anniversary show DVD nights.
4. Oxford UK? SF? Driving... 5 hours to Philadelphia.
5. Too hard to say. So many good ones.

This "Friday Five" only reminds me that I have yet to even see my FIRST concert yet...

I feel like such a loser because I truly got into music ala prog/power metal 6 or 7 years ago and have yet to be able to attend a concert. The closest to where I live that any worthwhile shows are held is Atlanta; however, that is still a 5-6 hour drive for me. I have missed at least 2, if not more, SyX shows in Atlanta because of other things that got in the way. The last couple of Prog Power's have had somewhat lackluster lineups and weren't worth my time or money. There was the one that SyX headlined some years back that had tons of other bands I wanted to see but you have to buy tickets almost a year before the festival because they always sell out in a couple of months or less.

Err...now I am depressed...

1)AC/DC with Pat Travers Band for openers 1979 Highway To Hell w/Bon
2) Prog Power 9 - 17 bands (+Midnight-) over 4 days
3) The Prog Power ticket is probably the most, but I did see Van Halen from the front'ish row for face value in 1984...for a cheapest/best seat ticket. I still remember being able to get great seats if you camped out for tix the nighth before. Those days are LONG gone...
4) Atlanta, GA - 617 air miles, iirc most recently, but I did fly out to LA & SD for Keneally shows back in the day, those I guess would win....
5) This is a REAL tough one. Lots of people who aren't with us anymore (Bon, Randy Rhoads, etc) but I think for overall "fun"+historical signifigance, it would have to be the first time I saw Maiden at Chicagofest, a huge Chicago downtown music & food festival. That was in 1982, NotB tour... Super honorable mention goes to both Freak Kitchen sets I've witnessed at Prog Power....

1) *Sigh* Matchbox 20 when I was about 13. I did get a bunch of free condoms, though.

Still have them too, I'd bet! :Smokedev: :D
